King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh commenced its operations in May
1983. Since then, it has continued expanding, while providing services for
a rapidly growing patient population in all of its catchments areas. Today,
King Fahad National Guard Hospital has evolved to be part of the King
Abdulaziz Medical City with many other prominent medical centers. KAMC NGHA
provides medical services to all National Guard employees and their
dependents. The bed capacity increased to 690 beds in addition to 25 beds
allocated for expected surgical operations in Ward 19, and 132 beds for
admission of emergency cases. NGHA has passed the requirements for
accreditation under the (JCI) Joint Commission International standards with
excellent performance since December 2006.

Ward 14-A has 18 beds catering to Hematology and Oncology patients,
Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplantation with a Nurse-Patient ratio of
1:3.
Detailed Job Description:
. Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process within
established hospital, divisional and unit specific policies and
procedures, standards, protocols, etc.
. Demonstrates knowledge and clinical assessment skills appropriate to
clinical area.
. Takes direct and appropriate action in urgent and emergency situations.
. Documents all assessments, interventions and other pertinent information
in the patients' health care record in a timely and ongoing manner.
. Promotes continuity of patient care through oral and written
communication.
. Demonstrates effective communication and collaboration skills when
interaction with patients and families, other health care team members
and staff of other departments.
. Complies with hospital infection control and safety protocols.

. Acute lymphoblastic and myeloid leukemias, lymphomas, aplastic anemia,
neuroblastoma, sarcomas, myelodysplastic syndrome, non-hodgkins and

care with patient's ages ranging from adolescent to old age.
Detailed Job Description:
. A staff nurse under the Nursing Services Department that ensures that
all patients of the Nursing Unit are provided with quality and safe
patient care that conforms to the standards of St. Luke's Medical
Center.
. Reports directly to the Charge Nurse on Duty and functionally to the
Nurse Unit Manager or Assistant Nurse Unit Manager.
. Supervises junior staff nurses, nursing assistants, ward clerks, and
student nurses.
. Performs total patient care integrating the 12 nursing competencies
. Other relationships include interdepartmental personnel and intra
departmental personnel (internal); consultants, business partners,
patients, relatives, visitors, and different nursing associations
(external)
