RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Graduate Research Assistant, Advisor Dr. Ritu Aneja, Department of Biology Jan 2013

– Dec 2013 Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA

• Quantitation of accumulation of tumor specific, cytotoxic NIR dyes

Using cell proliferation assay, estimated the cytotoxicity (IC50) of near infrared

(NIR) dyes.

Treated pancreatic cancer cell lines with NIR dyes at cytotoxic concentrations

of these dyes and quantitated their accumulation using fluorescence microscopy.

• Development of centrosomal amplification profiles for tumors.

Devised a novel formula and technique to account for numerical and structural aberrations in

centrosomes of tumors.

• Examined tumor inhibition efficacy of water soluble noscapine analogs in mice models.

IVIS Lumina imaging was used to assess tumor inhibition activity of analogs.

Graduate Research Assistant, Advisor Dr. Yuan Liu, Department of Biology, Aug 2011 –

Dec 2012

Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA

• Purification of Interleukins from transformed bacteria.

Interleukins were purified on a large scale using affinity chromatography. Further, analysis

was carried out using western blot and SDS-PAGE.

• Cloning of human CD47 in expression vectors in E.coli.

Human CD47 was cloned in expression vector and protein was expressed into and purified

from transformed E.coli.

• Purification of Biomolecules (Antibody and Hormone) from recombinant Chinese Hamster Ovarian

(CHO) Cell Lines

Biomolecules from rCHO cell lines were purified using Gel Extraction chromatography.

Confirmed for purity using SDS-PAGE and Western Blot, quantified using HPLC, Biuret and

Modified Folin Lowry tests.

Bioinformatics project Aug 2008 – Dec 2008

Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, Mumbai, India.
