Analyzed and Implemented New Home Health Care System: Analyzed old home grown system
and decided to buy new Home Healthcare System saving $300,000 a year for outsourced

decided to buy New Medical Supplies System saving $125,000 a year in programming costs.
Enhanced IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system: By adding new features such as Caller ID and

Saved $80,000 by creating a first-ever way to displaying images from the AS/400: Though never
before possible on the AS/400, used Client Access and HTML to create a way. Asked to give
seminars on the subject by NGS Software.
Ensured correct packaging by placing images of the items and packaging materials on the
screen: As a result of the above, was able to provide images rather than lines of text ensuring
Wholesale Distribution Department of common errors.
Saved $3,000 in software costs: Wrote a generic program that takes any AS/400 data file creates a
CSV file enabling the transfer to another platform.
Reduced data entry time by 3 hours daily: Designed a system to read invoices by a barcode reader
and sent from the AS/400 directly into the Pitney Bowes computer for easier distribution.
Avoided outsourcing costs upon moving the manufacturing plant to the Dominican Republic:
Developed the plan, bought and installed equipment and bilingual programs, hired and trained
employees, all within 2 months.
Raised production by 3% saving $10,000 in weekly labor costs: Created a Piecework System for
the Dominican Republic plant which showed true costs and gave employees a greater incentive to
work faster. Reports and rates were sent directly to ADP saving manual data entry.
Eliminated $40,000 in shipping costs: Designed a shipping and invoice system, in only 2 weeks,
which enabled goods to be shipped to customers directly from the wholesale distribution center in the
Dominican Republic rather than first to the USA.
Created an automate email alert: Provided notice to vendors and employees of upcoming Purchase
Orders replacing manual faxing. Informed IBM of the technique and they included it in later versions
of the Operating System.
Reduced inventory taking from an entire weekend to only 2 hours: Using Barcodes and Readers
able to code a Sample Line Inventory Program to quickly take a more accurate inventory of 12,000
different styles.
Enabled the Purchasing Department to better forecast needs for packaging supplies: Created a
packaging Work Order system that controlled the inventory and the Work in Progress (WIP) for all
packaging.
Designed Invoice Splitting Program for Advanced Shipping Notifications (ASN): Revised the
packaging procedure to scan merchandise before placing in boxes to keep track of which box
merchandise is in.
Retained Wal-Mart as a $20 million a year customer: Developed the programs to interface with
the DHL PC, Wal-Mart’s preferred vendor for home deliveries.
Designed for Senior Management a one-page Daily Inventory Flash email summary: Includes
Flash Finished, Work in Progress (WIP), Off Premises, Consignee, etc.
Created a Shop Orders system for non-English reading employees: Developed a color system on
the screen that prioritizes shop orders by color.
Saved $2,000 per month and retained Wal-Mart by converting from EDI to Internet: Received
information form the Internet to the AS/400 and sent back to Wal-Mart in a way that was transparent
to the users.
Developed a Work in Progress (WIP) Physical Inventory Taking System: Created barcodes with
vital inventory information on each shop order so that inventory could be taken with little effort and
was accepted by the auditors as much more accurate.

Improved Customer Service provided by the Accounts Receivable Department: Used new
technology to connect UPS and FedEx tracking screens from the Internet to the AS/400 allowing
immediate response to customers regarding missing packages.
Saved 2 hours each morning with an Automatic Inventory Flipping Program: Created logical
warehouses keeping styles in one location flipping merchandise nightly to the correct logical
warehouse based on need with no physical of the merchandise.
Created a Salesperson Expediting Screen: Eliminated communication problems regarding the
status and accountability of production by providing a single screen accessible to everyone in the
