Front End/Cashier Assistant

I work at Costco Wholesale as a front end associate. My job duties

are to provide excellent member service, maintain a clean work area,

and ensure that the cashier has every transaction set up to be done as

efficiently as possible. I also stock and block down merchandise in a

timely manner to maintain an organized and safe shopping

environment. I work an average of 38 40 hours per week.

08/12 11/12 Exxon Mobile Refinery Torrance, CA

Welder’s Assistant

I worked at Exxon Mobile Refinery as a welder’s assistant. My job

duties were to unload the welder’s truck, set up the tools and supplies,

and keep the supplies fully stocked to ensure the job ran smoothly. I

would also observe the welder and take notes to learn different

strategies on how to weld. I completed a Refinery Safety Overview test

in order to be certified to work in such a hazardous environment. I

worked 12 hour days, 6 days a week.

12/08–01/11 The Home Depot Canoga Park, CA

Sales Associate

I started out as a cart attendant and within three months was promoted

to the flooring department. My job duties were to provide excellent

customer service, maintain a clean and fully stocked department, and

make sure customers left with a great shopping experience. I also

operated all heavy machinery including forklifts, electric pallet jacks,

and order pickers. Other responsibilities included transferring products

from store to store, helping out with shipping and receiving, and filling

in for cashiers when coverage was low. I worked full time at this job.
