Ultrasound NDT Level II/Destruct Team leader

Checking the integrity of welds, sealer, and fasteners on various parts. We

use a method of checking welds with ultrasound (NDT), in order to save

money on scrap. I do section cuts to check the dimensions of the hems, and

check for flange fill and dams on various parts. I also do hem analysis

reports for the hood, fenders, and lift gate. I put together programs in

the Ultrasound systems by getting the blueprint information (CAD data)

using Catia. I make a many different data charts every week, and enter the

data that we collect on every part we test for the engineering team. I also

do a cost savings analysis report for the management team. I set the

schedules every week of my employees and keep a overtime equalization chart

to spread the overtime out evenly.

I would check each part I ran with calipers, mics, and depth gauges to

insure quality parts.

I ran a overhead 40 ton crane to load machines with work, and I also loaded

and unloaded trucks. I was also the receiving clerk. I would measure the

thickness and the width of each coil of steel that came in to make sure it

was correct before unloading. I was in charge of entering all of the data

of the material that came in into our system. I was laid off in 2003 and

got a job at JMT.
