Mills Fleet Farm is a privately held family business, founded in 1955 to

sell merchandise wholesale to farmers. They operate 34 stores, some as

large as 250,000 sq. ft. and 16 Convenience Stores in four upper Midwestern

states.

Brainerd, Minnesota, while Merchandising and Operations functions are

. Involved in working on AMS tickets. Retail Outstanding tickets reduced

from 57 in 2012 to only 4 in 2013, which is an improvement of 93%.

. Seamless resolution of batch failures by excellent coordination by

Philippines and India team

upgrade resulted in reduction of batch issues from 75 in 2012 to only 25

Project Description

The project is for leading fashion retailer Abercrombie & Fitch

Co (ANF).

Abercrombie's request for the Cost Method of Accounting was driven in order

to better manage the business processes. The change to cost accounting will

improve Abercrombie's ability to gain visibility to financial margins;

track visibility of correlation between promotion and sales; and reduce

efforts currently in process related to the markdown of merchandise. Other

drivers of the business change include: IFRS potential replacement/merge

with US GAAP, statutory reporting requirements and timing of the

implementation of Just Enough (JE) planning system.

Currently under the retail method, Abercrombie recognizes a charge to

cost of goods sold based upon actual and estimated markdowns in the retail

selling prices for the season. With the cost accounting method there will

not be any reductions in retail selling price until merchandise is sold or

if Abercrombie expects to sell the merchandise below the original cost.

Part Rate Generator:

PRG computes Lean Capacity Rates (LCRs) for parts across programs,

based on Product Portfolio Content (PPC) penetration forecasts. The

application offers the flexibility to run various forecasts and calculate

LCRs to optimize purchasing decisions and cost savings. PRG is also used to

identify program content errors, including Vehicle Description Summary

(VDS) conflicts and range errors in penetration forecasts

Global Tire warranty Claims:

Global Tire Warranty & Claims is a system to collect and measure data on

why tires

are adjusted on all GM vehicles around the world. This system is common in

approach and global in scope and will provide an early warning for any

changes in performance related to tire adjustments. Additionally, by

design, this system facilitates an effort to improve the number of tires

being returned, under warranty, by GM Dealers to the tire manufacturers.

This improvement will result in additional credits (revenues) to GM for

replacement tires.

Global Part Description System Clone. :

GPDS clone is a database application running on Oracle database

server. It serves as a data hub for GPDS and E-Squared data and provides

the ability for applications to select GPDS and/or E-Squared data without

impacting the Production system. The GPDS Clone also serves as a staging

area for changed data from iMAN to GPDS and also has FAST and VPPS data for

adhoc reporting purposes. GPDS clone serves as a database server for the

COGNOS reports.

was asked by the clients for redesigning their existing system to be more

suited to current standards and technology.

In the process, one of the major refinement that was made was the database

set up was changed from a distributed to a centralized system. This is only

the second of its kind as far as redevelopment is concerned and the first

as far as redevelopment from Clipper to Oracle for Kumaran. The team

followed the whole SDLC process towards its approach to the project.
