Qualifications

• Read and understand blue print's
• Talking to others to convey information effectively
• Knowledge of machines and tools, uses, repair, and
maintenance.
WELDER
• Set the welder's for good heat's and penitration
• Set up, operate, and tend welding machines to
fabricate metal products or assemblies
• Give directions to other workers regarding machine
set-up and use
• Correct problems by adjusting controls
FABRICATOR
• Carve designs and figures in full steel,
employing knowledge of steel carving techniques and
sense of
• Verify depths and dimensions of cuts or carvings to
ensure adherence to specifications, blueprints, or
artistry to produce models,
• Study artistic objects or graphic materials such as
models, sketches, or blueprints, in order to plan carving
or cutting techniques
• Shape, trim, or touch up roughed-out designs with
appropriate tools in order to finish carvings
• Select chisels, pneumatic or surfacing tools, or
sandblasting nozzles, and determine sequence of use
• Check surfaces of carvings to ensure smoothness of
finish

•Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or
subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using
jigs, cutting torches, and hand tools.
•Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using
squares, rulers, and tape measures.
•Tack-weld fitted parts together.
•Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed
to ensure that specifications are met.
•Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks,
turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
•Locate and mark work piece, allowing for stock thickness,
machine and welding shrinkage, and other component
specifications.
•Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, or straps in position for
welding.
•Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials
requirements and task sequences.
•Move parts into position, manually or with hoists or cranes.
•Setup and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, cutting
torches, grinders, drill presses, bridge ports mills, to cut, form,
punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
