Continuous Improvement Specialist – Quality Tech – Orientation/Team Concepts/Inspection Training Instructor

• Responsible for training all new employees. Instruct & continuously improve the following classes.

o Team training (Communication skills, teamwork skills, conflict resolution, etc.).

o Orientation training (Daman Handbook, Corporate Values, Introduction to reading blue prints, construction/visual inspection, Basic measuring tools, Basics of a hydraulic manifold & the TAG training program).

o Inspection/Quality training (In depth training on reading blue prints, critical features of a manifold, use of measuring tools/ thread gages/ Go-No Go gages. The trainee must be able to correctly inspect all the features of a hydraulic manifold by the end of a 5 day class).

o Provide any training needed to production team members as needed.

• Responsible for gage calibration, caliper calibration, Micrometer calibration, etc. & the inspection of all newly received custom built tooling.

• Design & build all equipment needed (within the guidelines of lean & cellular manufacturing, as well as 5S) to our capabilities, for continuous improvement company wide. (Most of these projects are built for the production teams; we have 5 cellular production teams consisting of 3-4 CNC machines each, laid out in a 65,000 square foot building).

o Evaluate the continuous improvement request, and then get feedback from the employees involved in the request. (All requests are considered using safety, lean & 5S principles).

o Design the equipment needed & have it approved by employees involved. (These projects can consist of platforms, workbenches, cabinets, shadow boards, moving lift tables, jib cranes, torque multipliers, hydraulic & pneumatic systems with solenoids & limit switches, basically whatever is needed. We build most projects out of steel, aluminum or ductile iron but sometimes we build wood products for office spaces).

o Order all the materials & tools needed.

o Build the high quality finished product and put it into practice.

• Basically responsible for or involved in all continuous improvement processes at Daman Products.

Cell D Shift Leader – 1st Shift

• Responsible for all cell functions from receive material to shipping final product.

• Ensure Team Members receive training and guidance for personal & Team success.

• Remove all obstacles while providing Team Members with the tools needed to perform to schedule.

• Lead Team Members through continuous improvement while always maintaining high quality standards.

• Write CNC programs using Griffo software for Mazak operations.

Cell C Team Member, Production Planner, Part Processor, CNC Programmer/Operator

• Key member of Design Team which analyzed entire organization and created process maps to identify waste, delays and redundancies.

• Responsible for identifying tooling & inspection equipment required for all new custom products and ensuring these items are ordered and in house in time to build & inspect final product that meets ship date.

• Engineered and wrote multiple processes for angle hole calculations, custom tooling usage/storage, custom tooling order checklist/tolerances.

• Key member of Engineering/Design team in which I helped Designers reduce waste and potential tooling and scrap issues prior to designing final blue prints for new custom jobs.

Oil King – Gas Turbine Electrical Technician & Mechanic

E-5 Rank responsible for all lube oil/fuel oil quality management programs ensuring proper testing, purifying & log maintenance. Completed countless on load & off load transfers, as well as all the ships internal transfers of lube oil/fuel oil, in port and underway without incident. Responsible for all on deck & in flight helicopter fuel oil transfers, also completed without incident. Qualified as propulsion systems monitor which included monitoring and responding to casualties to two gas turbine engines, main reduction gear and controllable pitch propeller during underway periods.

Fire Fighting/Damage Control Investigator

Lead investigator responsible for being first on scene in the event of any ship or air craft casualty. Quickly assess any ship/air craft damage & personnel casualties caused by fire, ordinance/chemical attacks, hull damage, etc. during all ship’s general quarters situations. Immediately report findings and help develop safe & effective emergency rescue, firefighting, damage control & repair plans.
