Research Experience
. Graduate research in pharmacology comprising of:
* Ocular pharmacology research
o In vitro studies (Testing of effects of various neuroprostanes,
isoprostanes and hydrogen sulfide donor compounds on the
neurotransmitter release from the bovine retina by superfusion chamber
apparatus and detection by liquid scintillation counting)
o In vivo studies (Measurement of the effect of hydrogen sulfide donor
drugs on the intraocular pressure in rabbit eyes by applanation
pneumatonometry and study of aqueous humor dynamics by fluorophotometry
i.e. fluorotron scans)
o Ocular drug delivery (In situ gel formulation and optimization for
delivery of hydrogen sulfide into the eye using the drug NaHS and the
polymer PLGA combination delivery system)
o Cell viability assays (Development of a novel retinal tissue metabolic
cell viability MTT assay)
