CNC Machinist/ Safety Rep.

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches. Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets etc. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to company SOPs by running CMM checks continuously.

5/09 1st Class Welder/ Weld Trainer

Basic functions of the job were to facilitate others in various types of welding mechanisms in order to prove the ability to pass a series of different tests before becoming a certified welder at JMI. To assist in maintaining a standard of welding required by ABS, and US Coast Guard. Other responsibilities were to be able to weld with various types welding materials (E71T-1, E71T6, E718, SMAWE6010, SAW, and SMAW) in all different positions and in all-weather climates. Many of the job requirements were the same as Jeffboat.

8/08 1st Class Welder/Lead person/Weld Trainer

Lead welder responsible for 40 other welders. Taught others how to weld in all positions with different welding materials (E71T-1, E71T6, E718, SMAWE6010, SAW, and SMAW), and showed employees techniques for improvement as guided by ACL. Also visually inspected “bad" welds and marked them for repair, in order to meet ABS and US Coast Guard standards. The only certified stainless welder required for all cosmetic pieces (portholes, anvil’s etc.) on top of a barges before completion, out of over 1,000 employees. Assisted outside companies test weld butts for sufficient penetration, with ultrasound technology. Reported back to supervision and input everything in computer excel spreadsheet. Held annual safety meetings as guided by HR dept.

10/98 to TOWER AUTOMOTIVE; Corydon, IN.

9/04 Quality Control/MIG Welder

Inspected and made provisions for improved quality of Ford Explorer frames. Inspected frames that were at Ford before they went to the line, and before they left our facility to be presented to Ford. Inspected entire process from the beginning of the line to the completed product. Completed flow charts and control processes to cut down on production time and to improve quality of product. Strict guidelines were in place since Tower was a Tier 1 automotive facility. Worked closely with weld engineers to make the manufacturing line more proficient. Had daily meetings with production managers and quality engineers on ways to make improvements to keep non-compliance to a minimum. Used SPC for plant floor data collection, monitoring, network and web-based SPC analysis and reporting that integrates with other manufacturing management software for enterprise wide quality and process management reporting.

Forklift certification given yearly after testing. Made quality checks and improvements throughout the whole facility. From the steel area to the final product. Recorded improvements, and input all finding in various excel spreadsheets, made presentations for management on PowerPoint, and Microsoft programs. Worked closely with other QC inspectors to make improvements. ISO 9000, Q1, QS9000, OSHA regulations and other strict compliance for quality in our organization. Certifications given yearly.

3/96 to FIRE KING INTERNATIONAL; New Albany, IN

10/98 Final Inspector

Inspected, touched up, tested, and made sure the safes met Fire King standards before shipment. To ensure that the drawers shut evenly, no chips in paint…etc. Input information about each safe into an inspection computer, applied inspector number on product and packaged the fire proof safes before shipment.
