I have recently returned to Complete Phlebotomy Training, Inc. to gain more

blood draws. My count of blood draws is now 360. This was done in a hospital

setting.

Home Manager, 1/2001 – 6/2013

Therapeutic Living Centers for the Blind

• Home Manager assists with managing the house operations and daily activities of adults

with developmental disabilities including blindness living in an intermediate care facility. Under

the direction of the QMRP/Administrator the Home Manager ensures that the active treatment

program of each resident is carried through daily, completes all pertinent record keeping and

written documentation as it relates to resident and house matters, and provides training to all

staff working in the home. The Home Manager assists residents with living skills development,

health maintenance and medication administration, personal care, and behavioral development.

The Home Manager serves as the home’s liaison to families, administration, and the residents’

day program staff.

• Organizes day-to-day household management, which include: menus, food shopping, preparation and

nutrition (with consultation from the facility’s dietician), implementation of resident active treatment

plans, housekeeping, laundry, house maintenance needs, and resident transportation.

• Assists with living skill development and personal care needs of the residents as outlined in the resident’s

individualized service plan (ISP). This includes the supervision and assistance of cooking, shopping,

doing laundry, showering, feeding, dressing, toileting, and mobility (this may include lifting a resident

from a seated or lying down position) as indicated by the resident’s need.

• Administers medications to residents as directed by the facility’s Registered Nurse and as prescribed by

the resident’s physician. Ensures over the counter medications are adequately stocked in the medication

cart.

• Transports and accompanies residents to medical appointments using the agency van.

• Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team in the development of the ISP.

• Keeps progress notes current and complete including any progress made on ISP objectives and any other

information pertinent to the health and well being of each individual resident.

• Assures that all requirements for active treatment are met in providing day-to-day training and

supervision with the residents.

• Works closely with many professional consultants who have direct input into the consumers’ ISP.

• Participates in initial and ongoing training.

• Monitors Direct Support Staff performance and gives feedback to the facility’s QMRP/Administrator.

• Communicates all resident medical problems to the QMRP and the facility nurse.

• Maintains adequate fire, health, safety and welfare standards of the home and its surrounding areas

according to Title 22. Conducts and documents monthly fire drills.

• Provides a home-like, client centered atmosphere using appropriate techniques in training and positive

approach to behavior management as set forth by the members of the IPS/T. Implements self-

help/independent living skills and recreation/leisure time skills programs as per the ISP.

• Reinforces appropriate dress and social behavior in the community.

• Attends bi-weekly Home Manager meetings and other mandatory agency meetings as requested by the

QMRP/Administrator.

• Responsible for other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Acts as the Lead Staff of five to seven Direct Support Staff in

the Residential Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s

policies and applicable laws.
