18001-2007 Certified (More than 3 years' experience
Dated: 9th of August 2010 till present
The SGTPS-II power plant is capable of producing 90MW with the help of 32
GE-Jenbacher 620 Gas Engines; each engine is capable of producing 3 MW each
but is set to produce 2.379 MW due to ambient conditions.
There are also five 25MW Gas Turbines of Hitachi. These turbines are of 5
Frame, one of them is used for Black Start Condition and others are not in
running conditions due to poor efficiencies and low gas pressure.
Responsibilities:
Administrative:
* Deeply involved in training of lower staffs by giving presentations with
basic knowledge and animation to enhance their understanding/knowledge
related to plant and equipment installed on engines
* Prepare SOP about reviewing previous faults which have been occurred for
electrical team in order to perform job safe and sound and according to
HSEQ standards.
* Do Tagging on electrical Equipment's in Control Panels of the control
room. This activity helps me to learn about the position of breakers and
contactors of motors, compressors, bus-ties etc.
* Prepare weekly activity report and assigned daily based activities to
workers
* Prepare key performance identification report for the department on
monthly basis which shows MAN Hour Utilization in Department and Response
time to corrective notifications.
* Maintain record of the spares used during troubleshooting and keep
history of previous alarms in order to reduce mean time of repair.
Technical/Maintenance:
Electrical Side:
* Prepare Maintenance schedule and take part in maintenance of GE Jenbacher
engines. The maintenance is scheduled according to the running hours of
the engines.
* Troubleshoot any electrical fault related to DC supply restoration,
solenoid operation for Ratcheting, and remote and local panel operation
of Hitachi frame 5 Gas Turbines. technical manuals and engineering
drawings.
* Note down the electrical faults from the daily activity log book and make
a record of fault frequency and spares replacement in order to prepare
list of electrical equipment's for budget
* Deeply involved in troubleshooting of AREVA 11KV (VCB), Low voltage 400 V
AREVA PANELS and ABB GIS / 132KV (SF6) breakers panels side which is more
than 30 years old.

for maintenance work on SAP module Plant Management.
* Take Vibration Measurement on ISO 2372 (10816) Standards with LEONOVA
Infinity instrument to evaluate vibration severity in GE JENBACHER 620
GAS engine which operates on 1500 rpm. This standard is for machines
operating in the 10 to 200 Hz (600 to 12,000 RPM) frequency range.
* Do Megger of Siemens, Hitachi 30MVA/2MAV/1800KVA transformer, and prepare
its record in regular basis.
* Perform Di-electric test of oil filled cable (alarming limit is less than
45 KV according to IEC 60156 Test Standard IEC 60422) and transformer
oil, keep its record. Recently this timely test help us to perform
Centrifuging on one of 30MVA Transformer (alarming limit is 40KV but test
result was 29 KV) after two days centrifuging this result increases to 63
KV.
* Siemens, ABB & Grundphos motors upto 14KW motors Maintenance
Instrument Control Side:
* ABB Total Flow Gas Chromatograph periodic maintenance and
troubleshooting.

calibration.
* Jenbacher 620 Dia NE XT, DCS controls through SERVER based System
* Actrix Gas flow meter Maintenance of Fluxi 2200 /TZ Dn 200
* Acvatic TCV calibration
* Temperature Gauges (Fantinelli) & Burdon Tube Pressure Gauges (Wiki)
yearly calibration. XPi3 calibrator
PROJECTS:
Restoration of DC/AC Control Supply for 32 years old BBC GIS System:
The 132KV GIS SF6 System of Site Gas Turbine Power Station is more than 32
older old and Site II feeder in this system is the backbone or central node
for all other 132KV SF6 bays in respect to control supply. The distribution
of control supply to other bays is first to terminate to it and then go to
DC & AC Supply Panels. After fire incident the Supply near its dead feeders
cause damaged to this feeder too. Its restoration was critical in order to
restore the complete Plant to normal. Major activities were performed
during its restoration as follows:
* As system was 32 years old so electrical drawings were not properly
maintained. First complete drawing regarding control supply and
protection were arranged from plant old scrap yard and other old grid
station in no time
* Complete Study of drawings regarding control supply, protection scheme.
* Damaged feeder isolated from healthy feeder in respect to control supply.
* Complete troubleshooting performed in isolating and restoration of DC
Supply
* Compare and point out all cables termination.
* Arrangement of man resources and new cables for replacement with the
damaged control cables from local power stations.
Testing of Protection Cables with SVERKER 750/780:
* After cables terminations, testing of protection schemes and cables with
SVERKER 750/780 millivolts and milliamps injector to verify that all
protection and tripping schemes are remains in contact and working.
Modification in Old Existing Fire Alarm with Local Spares:
The old fire alarm system of SGTPS plant comprises of 4 check points with
control panels and hotter at different places. There is leakage of voltages
in triggering cables which are laid complete in cemented trenches; this
leakage of voltages became severe during raining period or sewage leakage,
resulting in false triggering of fire alarm. The obvious solution with the
mentioned senior was to replace the cables, but this requires huge length
of cables approximately 1.5 km and large amount of man power to remove
cemented cables trenches.
Old Strategy:
Old control strategy was based on single push button and separate timer in
each panel, so when there is leakage in cable the fire alarm get trigger or
when fire alarm get tested the timer contact remain latched when the
operating time get over.
Modified One:
To reduce cost and man power, a new control strategy was designed, which
comprises of 4 control relays and one contactor and two timers with old
laid cables. All four relays installed in each 4 control panels with one
contactor in main control panel to handle one hooter and six lights. The
push button operate relays which trigger timer which in turn operate
contactor and put hooter and light on.
Counting and Sorting of IRON SHEETS using Atmel 89c52 for Pakistan Steel
Mill:
The project was to identify the faulty steel sheets among the correct
sheets, count them and track them to the three sections (one for faulty and
two for correct sheets) in order to sort out. The decision whether the
sheet was faulty or not, made on thickness and physical quality of sheets.
The whole control logic was built on assembly language and Atmel 89S51 was
used to meet controlling objectives. The counting result was continuously
displayed on 12 Seven Segments (4 for one section).
Intranet -SCADA using LABVIEW and Atmel 89S51 Microcontroller:
The project was about to measure the water level of Dam and Reservoir,
transmitting the measure data to LabVIEW by interfacing 89S51 serially with
LabVIEW and control the valve. Data obtained in LabVIEW was logged in the
local database and also sent to LAN's TCP server and an http server for
viewing as a webpage.
