As an Activity Therapist in the care home rehabilitates the residents who suffer from stroke, Parkinsonism,

dementia, fracture, Alzheimer’s, head injury etc by stimulating them. Assess clients using information from

observations, medical records, standardized assessments, the medical staff, the clients’ families, and the clients

themselves. The care plan was made to cater individual physical, mental, and social well being.

Worked along with the community physiotherapist and encourage the residents to passively and actively take part in

the exercise program set by the physiotherapist. This includes passive movements, therapeutic massage, stretching

techniques, positioning, gait training, chest physiotherapy, sensory re-education, co-ordination exercise, arm chair

exercise, relaxation technique etc.

The activities planned help individuals reduce depression, stress, and anxiety; recover basic motor functioning and

reasoning abilities; build confidence; and socialize effectively so that they can enjoy greater independence and

reduce or eliminate the effects of their illness or disability. In addition, help people with disabilities integrate into

the community by teaching them how to use community resources.

Measures are taken to prevent the client from suffering further medical problems and complications.

After finishing internship/Placements, I was treating clients from a private clinic on a daily basis. The type

of cases included Asthma, Bronchectasis, CABG Rehabilitation, Stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Down’s syndrome and
