Projects/Budgets:
HVAC - $200, 00.00 to replace six roof-top units over 3 years. I
standardized the units and through observing windows of opportunity within
the facility and the contractor the project was complete in twenty-six
months. I reduced the cost through identifying my standardization decision
and negotiation with the supplier. Payback was less than three years.
Security System: - $160,000.00 to add card access, replace perimeter and
facility security systems. For company compliance I identified the need for
and benefit of adding card access I increased the facility security and
benefited the time/attendance process. To ensure greater and real-time
monitoring I added a CCTV system and replaced the perimeter security
system. I worked with a team of management, EH&S, production and office
staff to collect requirements and benefits of the systems. I coordinated
the training and procedures of security operations.
Roof replacement - $1,500,000.00 to replace 250,000 sq. ft. of tar and
gravel roof with vinyl over two years. Through ongoing communication with
production and contractor I increased the workable area for each trip,
reduced interruption to business, saved time and reduced the cost. Payback
was just over three years.
Telephone/Voicemail system - $280,000.00 to replace the telephone system
(PBX) and add Voicemail. At the time Nortel through Bell Canada was assume
to be the source. I began negotiation with Bell and then I brought AT&T (at
that time Lucent, now Avaya) into the picture. A concern of service was
evident so I negotiated no charge training of our in-house technicians for
administration and maintenance. I reduced the cost by more than $80,000.00.
The cutover date was met and successful.
Energy Management system - $100,000.00 to reduce energy consumption and
reduce wear on HVAC and lighting. By turning all lighting off I extended
the life of the lights and reduced energy consumption. By turning all HVAC
off where possible, reducing call for HVAC when possible I reduced the
energy consumption. Payback was just over fourteen months.
Programmable electronic production equipment - $500,000.00 - Contract
driven - Ahead of schedule
Fire panel/smoke detectors upgrade - $65,000.00 - fire code and insurance
compliance - ahead of schedule
Building access system addition - $85,000.00 - for company compliance -

CCTV system addition - $57,000.00 - for company compliance - ahead of
schedule
