Title: Effect of variation in Quenching Temperature and its influence on

Mechanical properties, Machinability and Microstructure of 45C8 and EN24

steels at HMT Machine tools Limited, Bangalore complex.

Description: The main target of this project is to analyze changes in 45C8

and EN24 steels during hardening, tempering and quenching process.

Machinability of given material is determined by tool life method whereas

Mechanical properties are determined by using Brinell hardness testing

machine and Microstructure of the specimen is analyzed by Metallurgical

Microscope.

Journal Paper: 1. Optimization of heat Treatment process for 45C8 steels.

2. Effect of heat treatment on mechanical

properties and microstructure of EN24 steels.

Result: Mechanical properties, Machinability and Microstructure of 45C8 and

EN24 steels is analyzed and compared.

Seminar: Microturbine.
