Accomplishments
• Assigned to the Hurricane Isaac Incident Command Post, New Orleans, Louisiana from September 4-20,
2012; Involved with oil and hazardous materials clean-up operations following Hurricane Isaac in an
area encompassing approximately 700 square miles. On a daily basis, was in charge of crews of up to 8
contractors and 2 state response personnel. Along with leading these crews, I was also given the
responsibility of managing contractor equipment and utilizing it in a cost effective and safe manner. In
total, the teams under my supervision responded to and resolved 8 hazardous material and 6 oil spill
reports.
• From 2012 to present, conducted foreign vessel inspections on over 100 separate 10,000GT+ freighters,
acting team lead as a designated Port State Control Officer. These inspections ensure compliance with
applicable domestic laws and international treaties by checking structural and stability conditions;
verifying appropriate electrical, fire safety, lifesaving, mechanical, and navigation systems; and,
examining living conditions for crew members on foreign-flagged vessels.
• Managed numerous oil spill response efforts as a qualified U.S. Coast Guard Pollution Responder from
2009 to the present. As a Pollution Responder, I was directly responsible for and supervised clean-up
operations including immediate health and safety concerns, while ensuring the rapid mitigation of
environmental damage.
• Highly skilled in regulatory knowledge concerning vessel and facility safety & security
laws/conventions including; the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, Maritime Transportation Security
Act, International Ship & Port Facility Security Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, and numerous others.
• Responsible for creating and implementing safety training programs for personnel to aid in the
prevention of on the job mishaps.

Excelled within the U.S. Coast Guard marine safety field in the nation’s 10th largest port by volume, earning
multiple qualifications.
U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton 2008 – 2009
Conducted patrols in the Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean to ensure fisheries regulatory compliance. Conducted
narcotic interdiction patrols in the south Pacific to ensure the safety and security of our ports.
