TECHNICAL WORK EXPERIENCE
• Internship in Teleman DHA Jun 2012 – July 2012
Teleman offers an array of services under three major service categories i.e. Data, Entertainment and Voice and
expands from Cable Broadband to Wireless Broadband, from Cable TV to Video on Demand and fiber optic
network to wireless local loop telephony. I was interned in Head-end dept, NMS dept, O&M dept, Design
dept, MSAN dept, CMTS dept, Video on Demand dept and Optical Fiber dept where I learned,
* To monitor the noise and quality of Digital and Analog TV services and resolving, by proper alignment of
antennas and by using Space Diversity that helps in getting a healthier signal which is vulnerable to huge number of
BTS in Rawalpindi and in Islamabad area.
* Monitoring the Active devices (NODES & AMPLIFIERS) of HFC network on NMS and generating hard and soft
alarms and tickers on the website.
* Fixing appropriate NODE, AMPLIFIERS, COAXIAL CABLES, TAPS or OPTICAL FIBER in case of Alarm, in
O&M dept.
* Designing and analyzing the position for placing new NODE, AMPLIFIERS, COAXIAL CABLE or OPTICAL
FIBER on the map as well as in the field, in Design dept.
* Fixing complains of customers on web generated by the call center employees.
* Troubleshooting and splicing the OPTICAL FIBER in case of breakage.
* Updating the Video On Demand Server through entertainment stuff and monitoring the Game servers.
* Understanding and monitoring the Hybrid Fiber Copper network which is in Ring Topology on NMS, in MSAN.
* Assigning the different type of internet packages to customers, and monitoring routers and bandwidth.
WORKSHOPS:
• Attended workshop on 8051 Microcontroller held in MCS (NUST) 2011
• Attended Workshop on Basics of Android Held in MCS(NUST) 2012
• Attended Seminar on “Internship & Job Placement” by Wi-Tribe Director held in MCS(NUST) 2012
FINAL YEAR PROJECT
Advanced LTE Modem Design with Interference Cancellation
Modern Trends in communication systems necessitate higher data rates and increased reliability. 4 th Generation
wireless systems & protocols are targeting to achieve these objectives by more aggressive use of spectrum which
leads to interference-limited scenarios. Effective mitigation of these interferences is necessary to achieve the
objectives of high spectral efficiency. Interference Mitigation is the currently the focus of attention of both academia
and industry. This project is looking at interference mitigation through advanced receiver structure. For that purpose,
Two LTE based transmitters and single receiver is implemented and then removes interference at cell edge user
(receiver) by using specific algorithm. Hardware and Software that used are SDR (USRP-I kit), Ubuntu, GNU
Radio, Python and Matlab.
