Project Details

Project: Informatica workflow development

Hearst Comag

Description: The business lead leverages ETL tools like Informatica to

extract and manipulate data from their various sources into a single

enterprise wide DB systems. There was a need to create a series ETL

workflows that would map data collected from external sources and map

them to existing enterprise Databases. The project required working

closely with the Business users to understand requirements, development

team and testing team and deliver results in a short turn around.

Role: Functioned as both as a Business Analyst and ETL Developer.

Interacted with business users to gather requirements. Converted them

into enterprise developer workflows in Informatica. Worked with test

teams to test and deploy the chain to production.

Project: Informatica/ Oracle upgrade

Hearst Comag

Description: CoMag is IT division of largest publication magazine

distribution system in the world. The business gets multiple sources of

data from a variety of vendors, partners and global systems. The DB

relies heavily on ETL tools like Informatica to extract and manipulate

data from their various sources into a single enterprise wide DB

systems. The version of ETL tool was outdated and creating support

risks, limiting developers and stalling business projects. Goal of this

project was to modernize the ETL solution system with minimal

disruption in service.

Role: Functioned as Project Manager and handled all communication and

delivery plans. Held scheduled meetings with Business, IT Developers

and Management to create a schedule for upgrade. Performed test upgrade

environment to check for regressions, closely collaborated with

multiple teams to verify builds and existing solutions. Worked with ETL

Product support to resolve issues encountered. And performed the

upgrade on time and schedule while ensuring communication to various

teams. Was part of the Oracle upgrade team from 10g to 11i.

Project: NT & T MIS

Wipro Technologies

Description: A Gas exporter in UK was responsible for the distribution

of Gas for industrial, commercial and household usage. The whole area

under the Client's network was divided into shippers and customers,

each with a dedicated pipeline. The project involved

Planning of different subsequent phases and delivering the solutions

for the same,

Building of Requirement Definitions, Source - Target Mapping with the

help of different Data Models built by the team.

Role: Handled responsibilities of the Datawarehousing analyst. Created

data mappings, data models and SQL scripts. Successfully met deadlines

also worked as coordinator with the onsite Team, the development team &

business users.

Project: CRN Management Reporting

Wipro Technologies

Description: Customer Restoration Network is claims management

application developed in Siebel & Filenet that uses Oracle as a back-

end. Management reporting application was developed to fulfill the

reporting requirements of the business.

Role: Worked as Application developer using various Cognos tools.

Provided features such as generating quotations, logging the ongoing

transactions with prospective clients and complete query and report

functions. Security was key issue in this project. Testing included

validation of ETL process, End-To-End testing of Reports/Cubes & basic

testing of the reports. End-To-End testing involved validating business

requirements, developing business scenarios and performing data

validation of the system
