Experience Cell Manufacturing Technician II (March 2012 – present)
Aldagen Inc. Processing of blood, bone marrow, and umbilical cord specimens to
isolate specific stem cells for phase I/II clinical trials relating to stroke, glioblastoma,
and various other ischemia-related conditions. Analysis of these stem cells through
mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, and various biological assays; extensive
experience manufacturing under GMP. Researching on donor bone marrow in
support of clinical trials. Assisting revision of standard operating procedures, process
batch records, inventory processes, and training new employees.
Cytogenetics Technologist (April 2009 – March 2012)
Laboratory Corporation of America. Preparation of postnatal blood specimens for
chromosome analysis for genetic diseases and disorders. Associated laboratory work
includes: specimen accessioning, setup, lymphocyte harvest, and several chromosome
banding techniques. Banding techniques include conventional Giemsa staining, C-banding,
and silver nucleolar organizing region staining. Trained new employees on these and other
techniques.
Research Assistant (April 2008 – April 2009)
NCSU Department of Entomology. Work with research on Thrips (Thysanoptera), and their
connection to Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus. Included various laboratory work, data analysis,
and training of new employees.
Laboratory Manager (September 2008 - February 2009)
Little River Vineyards. Designed and developed a laboratory area, and oversaw testing of
various wines and grapes for titratable acidity, sugar/alcohol content, pH, sulfur content, etc.
Radiology Assistant (June 2001 – April 2006)
Stanly Regional Medical Center. Worked in the Radiology department of a hospital
developing X-Rays, scheduling patients for procedures, checking patients in, and transporting
them between floors and departments.
