Education and Qualifications
University of Glasgow, BSc Honours Physics: 2:1 2007 - 2011
Subsidiary subjects: Earth Science and Mathematics.
Honours courses included: Energy and the Environment, Quantum Mechanics, Signal and
Transmissions, Electromagnetic Theory, Nuclear and Particle Physics, Solid State Physics and Atomic
Systems.
Dissertation: The Luminosity Monitor for the Muon Ioni sation Cooling Experiment
Using C++, I designed a Luminosity Monitor and ran simulations where particles were scattered and
subsequently passed through the Luminosity Monitor. I collected and evaluated this data and
successfully found how much shielding must be used in the Muon Ionisation Cooling Experiment to
halve experimental particle rate as previously, saturation of the monitors was too large.
