PROJECT EXPERIENCE:

Project #01 Cisco Service Control Engine - Subscriber Manager Dev test

Duration:(Sep 2010 to till date)

The Cisco service control solution is delivered through a combination of

hardware and specific software solutions that address various service

control challenges. The Cisco Service Control Engine is a Deep Packet

Inspection (DPI) solution that deals with L2 to L7 layers and protocols. It

is a network element specifically designed for carrier-grade deployments

requiring high-capacity stateful application and session-based

classification and control of application-level IP traffic per subscriber.

The SCE platform is powered by the SCOS SW that enables the loading and

execution of service control applications .It allows to identify the

content transported on any protocol (L4 to L7 protocols) and prioritize the

sessions in real time. It also provides quota and bandwidth management.

The module given for testing is called Subscriber manager which basically

stores all subscriber information including quota information. These

records will be processed by the service provider in order to generate

billing for the customer and also for generating graphs and trends for

Business intelligence. My work involves in manual testing, Bench mark

Testing, Regression testing of 3.6.5 release and also for testing the

various new features in 3.7.0 release.

My Job responsibilities are shown below:

. Apply DPI in L4 to L7 and test the behaviour, working and correctness

of the product from end-end with DPI and major Networking protocols

involved. Primary task also

. Testing SM which manages the subscriber details (name, net id and

policy) and Provide the information to SCE device simultaneously or

based on SCE request.

. Regression testing in various platforms and in cluster setups.

. Performance testing across various platforms for 3.6.5 and 3.7.0 SM

release.

. Developing test plans for testing the new features of 3.7.0 release.

. Automation of the cases in java and manual testing .

. Manual and automation testing of the SCE box with SM module by pumping

real traffic by using Ixia, sesame and various tools like gulliver.

. Setup the topology and execute the test cases manually.

. Finding bugs and tracking them till they are resolved to fixed status

and also scripting case to verify them.

. System -BM Testing and System - Regression Testing.

. Communicating with Dev and Prod Team

. Guided escalation team for Severity one customer issues make it

solved.

. Building up the test setups and recreate the Customer found defects

LTE-UE protocol stack, as per

ASD & 3GPP protocol conformance test plans.

Duration: Jun 2009 to Aug 2010

Responsibilities

. Writing test cases incorporating the changes made in the latest LTE UE

conformance test specification.

. Writing functional test cases as per the 3GPP spec.

. Analyze system requirements and writing test plan.

. Create a test bed and scale it in sync with the development.

. Document review and updating as per the new specifications.

. Coordinate with both on-shore & off-shore Dev teams to debug the

reported defects/bugs.

. Bug verification.

LTE-eNodeB (PDCP, RRC) protocols.
