United States Navy, 2007 Present
Petty Officer Second Class Served in Reactor Controls Division on board USS Henry M.
Jackson SSBN 730, USS Ohio SSGN 726 and USS Seawolf SSN 21. Completed one Western
Pacific Deployment, started a Chief of Naval Operations’ depot maintenance period and three
strategic nuclear deterrent patrols. Worked with a watch team made of up of 10 people to safely
operate and maintain the ship’s propulsion plant, electrical plant and auxiliary systems related
to engineering. Safely performed hundreds of hours of maintenance related to the reactor plant,
its safety and instrument systems. Qualified Reactor Operator and Shutdown Operator,
signifying trust from my Chief, Department Master Chief, Engineer and Commanding Officer
when operating the reactor plant in port and at sea.
Management: Divisional “Work Center Supervisor” for ships Maintenance and Material Management system.
I personally oversaw over 20 non nuclear maintenance items a quarter and maintained internal
audit over 90%. I was the Engineering Department damage control petty officer, overseeing
maintenance, both periodic and post use, performed by four other divisional damage control
petty officers, on damage control equipment in the engine room.
Operations & Reactor Operator and Shutdown Reactor Operator qualified, ensuring the Commanding
Logistics: Officer’s trust in reactor safety in port and at sea. As divisional Repair Parts Petty Officer, I
procured over $100,000 in repair parts. Wrote the maintenance paperwork for the weekly
nuclear maintaince and for repair, replace and retest of two neutron detectors.
Training & Trained three junior sailors and two peers in maintenance worker processes as well as three
Developmen superior sailors in work center supervisor procedures. Trained non nuclear sailors in the basic
t: nuclear primary plant systems for ship’s qualifications.
