Clubs & Organizations
Moot Court Club - President 2009- 2012
Moot court is an extracurricular activity at many law schools in which participants take part in
simulated court proceedings, which usually involves drafting briefs (or memorials) and
participating in oral argument. As the president of the club, I would organize debates with
surrounding colleges and universities along with preparing my team for intense competition.
Residence Life Club – Treasurer 2011 - 2012
As a member of the RLC board we are responsible for hosting events for residents on the St.
John's University campus to ensure that students will gain the maximum St. John's Vincentian
experience. Events include numerous volunteer opportunities where students can give back to the
community, to carnivals and family days, where families, students, faculty, and alumni unite.
Pan-African Caribbean Student Association – Historian 2011 - 2012
The mission of PACSA is:
- To develop a productive and friendly atmosphere among students of various cultures at St.
John's University.
- To educate and inform students about the African & Caribbean cultures around the world.
- To develop a greater understanding of African and Caribbean history.
Students with a Greater Goal - Historian 2011 - 2012
Members of this club look to encourage students to reach their maximum potential. This includes
hosting career workshops, were students can attend seminars that spotlight resume building and
how to become a professional in any work field. Our organization has proven to be effective due
to many inexperienced college students that have little to no work experience.
Campus Ministry – Volunteer 2008 - Present
Building a Community of Faith, Service, and Friendship. Campus Ministry on each of our
campuses is people and programs and most importantly, a presence within the community.
Because St. John's University is a large commute and resident school, you may think it could be
tough to find a home when you first get there. Campus Ministry and its volunteers can be that
home. As a member of Campus Ministry, I would join other students in making sandwiches and
collecting clothing for the homeless people in New York City.
