Subj: Plant Maintenance Manager.

Dear hiring manager,

This letter is to express my interest in the Plant Maintenance Manager position.

I am a U. S. Navy veteran with extensive experience in facility and maintenance management, capital

equipment acquisition and installation, facility and equipment moves, establishing and maintaining a

preventive maintenance program, and managing the CMMS. I was and continue to be heavily involved with

setting up our quality management system and our safety and environmental programs. I was the

environmental manager for a period of three years in addition to my other duties. In 16 years my organization

has had only one recordable incident. The facility I manage has one of the best insurance ratings in our

corporation. As a senior member of the production management team I have been deeply involved with

planning and executing continuous improvement initiatives.

I presently manage and maintain a 650,000SF manufacturing facility and all production equipment. I have an

annual operating budget of $10M. I negotiate and manage all facility construction and maintenance contracts.

I have continually reduced energy consumption costs resulting in decreased cost of operations. My team

consisting of professional engineers, bargaining unit personnel and contractors is responsible for developing

and executing the maintenance plan for facility infra structure and over 100 pieces of CNC metal fabricating

equipment. I utilize Oracle, Enterprise

Asset Management, software to manage the predictive and preventive maintenance program. Our objective is

to minimize unscheduled down time.

My strength is leadership. Throughout my career I have recognized that people are our most important assets.

My success can be attributed to my ability to build and motivate award winning teams.

My resume that hi lights my knowledge and expertise in facilities and maintenance management is enclosed. I

would welcome the opportunity to meet with you in person to discuss employment opportunities with your

team.

Sincerely,

David L. Porter
