Worked on IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances for about 2 years as
a certified IBM solution implementor. Teached DataPower courses, conducted
proofs of concept sessions and workshops, gave consultation, implemented
solutions from appliance setup to application development. Used DataPower
as security gateway and enterprise service bus, enabling legacy applications
as web services. Developed many Web Service Proxy, Multi-Protocol
Gateway, XML Firewall, XSL Accelerator and Web Application Firewall
services. Utilized the concepts of digital signatures, encryption/decryption,
SSL, AAA, SLM, XML threat protection, etc. Wrote many custom XSL
transformations including cryptographic operations like signature verification.
Did standby configurations; key and certificate management; SNMP, syslog
integrations. Developed utilities like automated backup of appliances using
XML Management Interface and shell scripting.
Among the customers were Central Registry Agency (Merkezi Kayit
Kurulusu - MKK - where implemented an online integration system with
banks), Turk Telekom (did POC, gave workshop, teached DataPower
administration course, setup the devices, built a framework for developing
applications), Avea (setup appliances, conducted workshops, implemented a
framework for developing services, developed services), Anadolu Sigorta
(conducted workshops, ported services from WebSphere ESB), and others
where conducted POC sessions like Turkcell, Central Bank, etc.
Meanwhile, developed Web Service client and server applications with Java
using frameworks and APIs including Apache Axis, Apache WSS4J, JAX-WS,
JiBX, etc. at MKK. Developed a custom transport for Oracle Service Bus
(11g) at Avea.
Worked on WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus for a while; developed
mediations using WebSphere Integration Developer at MKK.
Worked in the integration of Oracle Service Bus (OSB) as a replacement of a
custom-developed service bus application for Avea. Ported hundreds of
services into OSB, and developed custom OSB transport applications.
Worked closely with an Oracle consultant for quite a time. Gained great
experience on technologies like XML, XSD, XQuery and XPath, and on
WebLogic and Oracle Service Bus. As the main developer, developed OSB

services and transports using Oracle Workshop for WebLogic 10.3, deployed
services and applications on OSB 10.3 and WebLogic server 10.3. The
resulting system handled about 24 million transactions per day. Project lasted
about 1 year. Meanwhile participated a few OSB POC sessions.
Participated in the integration of Vignette Content Management and Vignette
Portal tools for Turkcell.
Worked some time on mobile site development technologies. Made some
proof of concept development using Volantis Mobility Server and XDIME
technology for Turkcell.
Throughout all the projects, effectively used some or all of other tools and
technologies like Java, Apache Tomcat, Apache Http Server (WebLogic
bridge configuration; reverse proxy configuration using two-way SSL, etc.),
Apache JMeter, soapUI, keytool, openssl, log4j, WebLogic, Subversion, CVS,
Oracle database, Eclipse, Vi(m), Shell scripting, Awk, Sed, etc.
