Coordinated relocation of TRW's European Slip Control Operations
in Netherlands to plantsite in Koblenz, Germany. Required 40%
of time spent in Europe. European production was relocated to
plants in NA while transfer of equipment, set-up, validation
testing, and relaunch occurred in Europe. Obtained all project
milestones without supply interruption or quality issues to
European and NA customers.
Plant Manager, May 1999-October 2001
TRW Chassis Systems, Rayong, Thailand (Expatriate Assignment)
Launched greenfield site in Thailand assembling chassis modules
for GM. Coordinated all activities with sales, purchasing,
engineering, advanced manufacturing to launch product on time
and on budget. Site generated approximately $50 million in
annual revenues.
Recruited/hired all local team members and trained/mentored them
to eventually take over management at assignment end.
After 18 months, consolidated module site with existing TRW
steering site to form one entity with approximately $60 million
in annual revenues, 150 people. Customers included GM,
Ford/Mazda (AAT), Nissan, and Koyo.
Six months prior to repatriation, held interim operation
director responsibilities for two additional Chassis System
sites in Malaysia. Total region revenues $120 million.
