I have spent 35 years working in the Telecoms industry in various roles
including most recently as a Quality Engineer.
Work History:
Ericsson was initially a manufacturing environment during this time I
worked as a Facilities Department engineer, working as part of a Project
team which was responsible for fitting new buildings to state of the art
level and moving 300 people into each new facility in Athlone, Beechill and
Dun Laoighre, and changing each of these facilities from Manufacturing to
Software houses.
During my Career within Ericsson I have held the following roles:
. Telecom Training management
. Teaching worldwide as a technical trainer.
. Computer training for external companies.
. Quality Engineer
My responsibilities in the Training roles included:
. Total project responsibility for all facets of budgeting,
troubleshooting, installations, and maintenance for various desktop
operations, hardware, and software.
. Working closely with internal/external IT departments both nationally
and Internationally to ensure that all policies are implemented correctly
and that the correct configuration of Hardware/Software are available at
all times to the customer.
. External customers would regularly require specific tailored training
on their own 3rd party software and how it could interact seamlessly with
Ericsson or other software, my role would be to develop an in-depth
understanding of both software packages, create the course material
(slides/Handouts/exercises) and ensure they worked seamlessly; once this
was achieved I would also provide the required training, all completed
within agreed budget limits.
. Actively implement a continuous programme of improvement based on
feedback from Customer/Student/end user and current best practice within
the industry.
In the role of Quality Engineer:
My responsibilities included:
. Provided Quality support to technical areas which included analysis of
data, document reviews.
. Tracked actions to completion and performed quality checks at each
handover stage.
. Design Process expert and a member of Design forum within Ericsson.
. Quality Metrics Analyst.
. Provided training to both internal and external companies.
. Consulted with external companies on a good quality process
. Conducted internal Quality Audits/Assessments for both process and non-
process activities
. Moderated Root cause analysis meetings.
. Tested new statistic tools for use within Ericsson.
. Helped teams transition to a more agile Wow (Way Of Working).
. I regularly presented a course called Presentation and
communication Skills, which focused on developing strong communication
skills whether in person or on the phone, I have regularly presented this
and various other courses to internal staff and customers worldwide.
. I have very strong sense of Customer service and attention to
detail with excellent written and oral communication skills.
. In addition to the above strengths, as a trainer, I possess a
unique talent for delivering highly complex technical information into
terms and concepts that the end users can readily grasp. Furthermore, I am
multi-task oriented, enjoy a challenge,
. I have a passion for learning and increasing my knowledge.
I thank you for reading my CV and look forward to discussing it further
with you.
Yours Sincerely,
Noel Lackey.
