Manufacturer and distributor of high-performance materials for the
aerospace, defense and energy industries. Hicks Equity Partners and the
Watermill Group sold Latrobe Steel to Carpenter Technology in June 2011.
Manager - Labor Relations & Medical Services, Latrobe, PA 2005-Present
< Reports to the Director - Human Resources. 650 employee
facility of which 400 are hourly employees represented by the
United Steelworkers. Main Plaint and Headquarters located in
Latrobe, Pennsylvania include manufacturing facilities of
melting, forging, rolling, thermal treating and finishing.
< Perform negotiations (Chief Spokesman in 2011) with the United
Steelworkers Association (400 hourly) and the International
Brotherhood of Teamsters' (4 hourly in Detroit, Michigan, Chief
Spokesman in 2009 and 2011 negotiations)..

between USWA bargaining
unit employees including disciplinary actions, grievances,

PROJECT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Designed and Implemented Strike Contingency Plan - 2008
Lead a team of managers through the design of a contingency
plan in the event of a strike during the 2008 contract
negotiations. This included interviewing security firms,
replacement worker firms, food service, etc. Eventually were required to
implement that plan in May 2008. Successfully operated the
facility with the use of replacement workers for 81 days.
Continuous Rolling Mill Rededication Ceremony, Project Manager - 2005
Planned, coordinated and implemented rededication ceremony
consisting
of over 200 attendees and included presentations, plant tour and
luncheon
SAP Assessment and Implementation of Order Fulfillment and Purchasing
Modules - 1999, 2002
Acted as part of a team developed to conduct a needs assessment
study concerning
the re-engineering of the order fulfillment process.
Distribution Study Team, 1997
