Dear Hiring Executive:
I am a Human Resources professional with over 15 years' experience in both
for-profit organizations and non-profit organizations. I am applying for
your Human Resources Coordinator position.
In my over 15 years of experience, I have completed the whole realm of
staffing, from identifying the position need, writing the job description,
sourcing and interviewing candidates, and negotiating employment offers. I
have used both behavioral and situational interviewing for all types of
candidates from the hourly production worker to the executive position,
including internal promotion candidates. I have been involved with all
volunteer and employee relations issues, from performance coaching and
management, up to disciplinary and terminations sessions. I have attended
all unemployment hearings and won the hearings for the employer. I have
worked with identifying talent and then developing the talent within the
employee to be able to fulfill succession planning.
At Cardinal Health, I worked with all levels of employees from the hourly
production worker, to the line supervisor, all the way up to the regional
Vice President. I had a great rapport with all the employees and
management as I was able to balance both sides of the employee relations
issue by being a business partner for the organization. Employees and
management both envisioned me as a fair person who would handle any
employee relations issue with confidence and dignity for both parties
involved.
I am currently with Girl Scouts of NE KS and NW MO as a Recruiting and
Training Consultant. I attend recruiting events within a service market
and interview adults for leadership positions. With Girl Scouts, I also
recognize talented leaders and volunteers and then coach/develop those
leaders to take on additional service unit positions on the service unit
board. I handle calls from troop leaders and parents regarding policies and
procedures regarding Girl Scouts. I help leaders with conflict within
their troops or conflicts with other troop leaders. I am on the phone
constantly coaching and developing leaders or attending their troop
meetings to observe the leaders and provide constructive feedback. I was
recognized by Girl Scouts in April 2013 with the Adult Recognition Pin for
developing a new leader training and mentoring program for a service area.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and
Psychology. I have a Masters of Arts degree in Human Resources Management.
I am PHR Certified. I feel with all my education and experience, I would
be a perfect candidate for your organization. My salary history has been
$38,000.
I look forward to speaking with you. I can be reached at 816-***-****
Sincerely,
Lindy L. O'Rourke, MA, PHR
