Education: Dual Bachelor of Science, Chemistry and Physics

Texas State University 2013

Work Experience

Physics Lab Instructor (Jan 2012 - Dec 2012)

Texas State University

o Presented clear experimental objectives, procedure, and associated

hazards.

o Duties included the troubleshooting of software, interfaces, and

sensors to attain the required laboratory precision.

o Grading, testing, and tutoring of students.

Chemistry Lab Instructor (Aug 2012 - Dec 2012)

Texas State University

o Duties included equipment checks, portioning of chemicals for the

experiments, and proper disposal of all experiment products.

o Prepared the laboratory and maintain stock of required chemicals and

apparatus, necessary to perform the experiments successfully.

o Ensured all experiments and functions performed within the laboratory

adhere to the prescribed safety standards, methods and protocols.

o Grading, testing, and tutoring students.

College of Science Student Clerk (Aug 2006 - May 2007)

Texas State University

o Assisted four advisors with their scheduling and updating of student

folders.

Research Experience

Physics Department

o Used a Jandel Linear four-point probe to characterize low and high

resistive samples of the organic semi-conducting polymer PEDOT to

investigate how to electrically characterize these types of polymers

efficiently.

o Created thin films of PEDOT using spin coating techniques in a clean

room environment.

o Results of my work facilitated the electrical characterization, done

by the Physics department, of newly synthesized organic polymers from

the Chemistry department. This ground work was vital in the

collaboration of both departments on this project.

Chemistry Department

o Created molecular models of polymers, crystal structures, and

complexes using modeling software on a Linux operating system. Applied

computational techniques to investigate molecular energy minimization,

molecular dynamics, crystal morphology, and physical property

prediction.

o Investigated the intercalation capabilities of cations into metal

sulfides via solvo-thermal processes. This method was an economical,

simple, and a controllable "one-pot" synthesis of intercalated metal

sulfides. Employed X-ray diffraction to characterize the synthesized

products and to determine whether intercalation occurred.

o Certified XRD Operator for the university's Bruker D8 Focus Powder X-

ray Diffractometer.
