ACADEMIC PROJECTS:

Project Title: ” INTELLIGENT CONTROL OF PAPER MACHINE MOISTURE

CONTROL”

Platform : MATLAB

Description: In this project we maintain the moisture level in the paper at a particular

temperature in the final drying section. The temperature measurement are done using IR

sensor, these parameters are then fed to the PC running the MATLAB. In turn the

MATLAB output is fed to control the steam heating coil, which in turn maintains the

desired temperature of the PAPER. Mamdani method is used in MATLAB, the program

generates 5X5 matrix based on which the desired moisture level can be set and output is

calculated accordingly.

Project Title: DEVELOPMENT OF SCADA for THERMAL POWER PLANT.

Platform : Lab VIEW

Description : In this project we designed a GUI (Lab VIEW based), hardware

interface and a model to monitor and control the various parameters of Thermal power

plant. The various parameters in different stages such as boiler- water level, salinity,

temperature, feed temperature, feed rate, pressure, steam temperature, steam pressure

etc., turbine – steam flow rate, temperature, speed, etc., generator – speed(frequency),

voltage, current are fed to the system. With the help of the GUI the predefined set points

are fed as desired. The software in turn generates the output to control the entire system

automatically so as to achieve the process parameters.
