ADM Glycols
Job title: Chemical operator
Responsibilities: Unloading crude cars of glycerin to external tank farm
and loading finished product of Propoleyene Glycol, ethylene glycol, bdo,
and glycerin into rail cars and trucks. Since qualifying as a utility
operator I was promoted to a glycerin operator. As a glycerin operator my
responsibilities included running two process stills, tfe's, and six carbon
columns. This required continuous monitoring of the process on D3 and Pie,
maintenance to this process as well as process improvements, and running
process lab samples. I have played a major role in addressing safety issues
and have personally taken on the responsibility of correcting these issues
as well as process improvements in the load out area and glycerin area.
Safety: I worked with the safety coordinator on a burn task committee which
entailed eliminating all potential burn hazards in load out, glycerin
process, distillation and the hydrogen plant. I also wrote and updated
sop's for the process to make the training of new employees safer and
easier for them to understand.

Job title: CRT Operator Level 3/Flash Dryer Operator
Responsibilities: As a CRT operator I was responsible for operating and
trouble shooting a continuous starch modification process. This process
required extensive knowledge of all chemicals received and applications to
the modification processes. Upon completion of the modification process my
duties required continuous monitoring of the product from drying to
packaging.
As a flash dryer operator my responsibilities included monitoring,
sampling, and maintenance of 5 flash dryers with two other operators.
Computer skills: Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Intellution,
Provox, SAP and PIE.

improvements to these processes.
Achievements: Over the course of my employment I have played a major role
in area safety. As a team safety member I implemented SOP's for every
process in the area, developed safety training videos, set up an area wide
annual grounding inspection, and chemical handling training for the area.
Special projects: Worked directly with area engineers and contractors to
bring on line three flash dryers, two dry thinning processes, and an
Ethylene Oxide compound. I played a major role in the writing of sequencing
of these processes on Provox and Intellution, working with contractors
interpreting p&id's and the training of all operators on the new systems.
I also managed all the overtime for 48 employees and worked as a step up
supervisor for 12 years.
