help files for software designed to accompany sophisticated scientific

equipment. Worked closely with programmers to learn and test software,

concurrent with program development. In addition, worked on several

technical operating, installation, and familiarization manuals. Other

projects involved collecting scientific literature and writing synopsis to

populate a client website with examples of their instrumentation use.

Involved in recruiting and training new technical writer hires. Also

managed production of Technical Writers' company website.

Baldwin, Ph.D.

February 2006 March 2012

Research Assistant III. Responsible for designing and performing

experiments aimed at characterizing (-protocadherins. Also involved in

experiments designed to use iPS technology to achieve neuronal re-entry

into the cell cycle. Established new techniques in the lab, such as

dissociated primary hippocampal and olfactory bulb cultures, synaptosomal

brain preparations, embryonic brain slice culture, etc. Managed ten

genetically unique mouse lines used for experiments. Heavily involved in

recruiting and training new undergraduate students in the lab. Prepared

and submitted IACUC animal protocols. Help to maintain overall

organization of the lab.

Thomas Jefferson University, Department of Pathology, Anatomy and Cell

Biology

June 2002 through February 2006

Laboratory manager and technician. Responsible for designing and

performing experiments using an organ culture system of retinal pigment

epithelium, aimed at understanding the regulation of complex patterns of

cadherin expression during development and wound healing, and the specific

role of these cadherins. Developed communication skills while presenting

work at various conferences. Was involved in grant application and editing

papers for submission.

University of Delaware, Department of Biological Sciences
