Strategic Alliances
• Analyzed the Device Solution Industry and identified alliance partners, initiated alliances, negotiated and finalized
legal, marketing and technical details of alliance a greements encompassing development, marketing and sales for
the Semiconductor division of Samsung
• Identified partners in the area of Operating Systems, Power Management ICs and Application Software from the UK,
USA, China, Finland, France and other countries targeting the Semiconductor market for Mobile applications
• Initiated alliance with partners by presenting prospects of the alliance in terms of the business plan, revenue
opportunity and expected resource requirements for the venture
• Led exploratory discussions with senior management at partner companies and Samsung on medium to long term

Product Management and Marketing
• Created roadmaps for features implemented on Samsung’s Semiconductor products based on Mobile Industry
Processor Interface (MIPI). Nominated as Samsung’s representative at MIPI, an alliance of more than 160
companies aimed at defining and promoting shared interfacing technologies for semiconductor products inside
mobile phones and hence reduce fragmentation in the mobile industry value chain
• Interfaced with senior mobile industry company representatives from corporate HQ in USA, Canada, Finland, UK and
Japan over quarterly face -to-face meetings and weekly teleconferences. Established common purposes with these to
achieve milestones matching Samsung's interests
• Impacted 2 standards out of 3 released in 2008 by MIPI, incorporating key competitive features o f Samsung, by
negotiating with company representatives on technical and marketing details
Teamwork and Leadership
• Led the first large cross-country project in my division. Managed a 16 member multi-cultural team across South
Korea, India and China on an IP design for an ARM based processor for video playback and recording
• Introduced processes for mitigating language and cultural barriers. Many of these processes were adopted for later
projects in the division

A startup funded by Intel Capital, Battery Ventures, Mayfield Fund and Goldman Sachs, focused on Ethernet over

• Evaluated strategic initiatives in new technologies including Passive Optical Networks (PON) and various framing
protocols. Reported on entry barriers, R&D resources and patent issues to upper management

• Spearheaded pre-sales and marketing efforts for the flagship Ethernet product of the company
