I have been a field mechanic for 14 years and for the last 12 years, I have owned and operated Smith Forklift & Industrial Repair as a field service technician. For the last several years, I have been contracted at LG&E Power plants servicing and repairing forklifts, dozers, trackhoes, articulating dump trucks, graders, rollers, and other equipment. I am able to troubleshoot and repair equipment on site including hydraulics, engine and air conditioning system repairs, transmission repairs and am also a gifted welder with MIG, stick and gas. I am passport & safety trained and have also attended training classes for rigging.

SUMMARY
HIGHLIGHTS
EXPERIENCE
Mechanic, 01/2001 to 06/2013 Smith Forklift Service - New Salisbury, IN Operated my own business handling preventative maintenance and repairs on construction equipment in various places throughout Indiana and Kentucky. I have a large service truck equipped with all tools (up to 3 inch sockets), generator, welder and crane which allows me to travel and make repairs on site. I often arrive on a site to find a list of problems to be looked at and I must prioritize which pieces to start with and often work under a strict time frame. I review daily inspection sheets from each operator, fix the problems & submit those inspection sheets to the project supervisor. I order all necessary parts and handle the preventative maintenance schedule including ensuring all oils, greases & lubes are on site and disposed of correctly. I am very thorough and always punctual.
