Project: DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A SMART PROSTHETIC HAND.

Research focused on the design and implementation of a biologically inspired smart prosthetic
hand that closely mimics the human hand in its functionality and dexterity for use by US
veteran amputees. Research supported by the US Department of Defense.
Utilized Engineering software (Maple 16/ MapleSim 6) to model the various fingers of the
-
prosthetic hand. Simulated and obtained the dynamic equations which were then used to
analyze the system response and applied to the control strategies. Final output will include a
complete visual model of the hand with the palm and various fingers modeled by a set of
equations which can then be associated with the MapleSim model and dynamic equations
obtained.
Successfully designed hand model with tactile sensors and actuators that can be manipulated

to correspond to electromyography signal.
Worked with research group to cascaded learning and results by creating progress reports and

technical presentations.

Converted the RF radar material tracking system to Allen-Bradley SLC5/05 and intellution
