Career Part of a team that worked on developing a new protective relay for Rochester Instrument Systems
using AutoCAD to develop the mechanical packaging. Organized and enhanced the technology and
knowledge base through mentoring and developing programs in AutoCAD, Mircosoft WORD and
EXCEL. Designing power monitoring systems for the customers from all over the lower 48, South
America, Korea, New Zealand, China and Canada.
In the power, transportation and process industry developing, validating and installing products and
packages to create powerful precise control systems using AutoCAD, Microsoft OFFICE, Cimplicity an
various text editors to manipulate code. Designing electrical instrument room, overall and individual
rack layouts. Specified power distribution, mechanical construction specifics and manufacturing BOMs
Designing process control circuits, standardizing complex cabinet mounted industrial control systems
with AutoCAD automation from quotation to manufacture. Conducted customer sales presentations
with outside sales team for the purpose of developing specs. Developed training material and
completing training classes at customer sites after installation.
Lead a team designing, installing validating PLC based control with an innovative HMI for a subway in
the Northeast US, using Cimplicity. The project created a new redundant PLC control system of NX
control logic and flat panel HMIs to enable routing of trains through multiple stations within the city.
Consulting with the customer to develop, implement and validate a new robust architecture of
organization. Leading efforts in the field for 1.5 years organizing manpower and equipment to install
and test the new systems.
Lead engineer representing a French division of ALSTOM Signaling, Inc. The project consisted of
verifying the PLC control system design of a Diesel locomotive. Data Investigations were done on a
regular basis to verify correct operation. If an anomaly occurred, the investigation of software logs and
code would determine if a hardware failure occurred or a software control scenario needed to be
addressed. Every anomaly was personally detailed to the end user to ensure complete understanding
of operation and develop a strategy to modify rules of operation, hardware architecture or system
software.
Lead Engineer guiding a team of engineers developing mathematical models and design rules for
emerging Positive Train Control (PTC) technology that monitors and controls train operation to conform
to regulations recently made Federal Law. PTC systems use large amounts of customer data to
develop scenarios for a new level of operation to guarantee safe operation as required by the new
federal regulations. Using a team atmosphere, developed Microsoft Excel VBA code to organize, parse
manipulate and reorganize data for streamlined consistent, dependable data structures.

ALSTOM Signaling, INC.
Signal/Test Sr. Applications Engineer
Design, service and installation/startup associated with Train Control Systems in North America
Organizing teams with the responsibility to verify the correct and safe operation of new control system
using Cimplicity, CAAPE, VBA, PROcomm,. Designing and testing everything from simple DC rela
circuits to complicated bidirectional logic and communication systems.
Leading a team of 6 engineers developing, evaluating, designing, testing Positive Train Contro
(PTC) technology for modern rail systems.

to develop, implement and validate a new robust architecture of organization. Supporting efforts in the fiel
for 1.5 years organizing manpower and equipment. My availability in the field enhanced the main offic
support of wayside design and implementation.

Developing Test Procedures and Cutover Plans for verifying system sub-assemblies, overall operatio
and field installations.
Additional support including calibration of test equipment to the design of PCBs required for specia
conversion.
Designing and documenting test fixtures used for testing the operational parameters of PCBs used i
