• Supported testing of initial optical concepts using OptisWorks software to su pport the

development of a GEN 3 system leading to power and system cost reductions of ~25%.

Used OptisWorks to support design decisions throughout the developmental stages.

• Developed two parallel systems using Nichia 083 and Lumileds Rebel LEDs to support

existing $30MM Wal-Mart business and $8MM Target opportunity.

• Developed unique optical systems that coupled thermal, mechanical and optical

characteristics within a single solution leading to improved system performance while

reducing costs and assembly time.

• Designed a flat lens solution that replaced our extruded lens leading to both optical and

process improvements, as well as cost reductions in scraped parts due to process

variation for the extruded lens, leading to improved COPQ .

• Drove the development of a lens insertion mechanism for the flat lens that will improve

operator ergonomics within our manufacturing facility during production of the GEN 3

RDL system.

• Completed installation instructions to support successful program rollout leading to

$5MM in sales in 2006, $25MM in 2007 and $16MM in 2008.

• Created support documentation for packaging, and assisted in refining new packaging

scheme enabling 50% reduction in packaging costs.
