Professional experience
Lecturer at the FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF RIO DE JANEIRO for Wallonia-Brussels International March 2010 – April 2013
Sent to Rio de Janeiro by Wallonia – Brussels International (WBI) to officially represent the Wallonia – Brussels
Federation, broadcast the French speaking culture of Belgium, and teach French classes at the FEDERAL
UNIVERSITY OF RIO DE JANEIRO (UFRJ).
Classes taught:
- Mainly French language classes for foreigners (Français Langue étrangère – FLE) but I also taught
Belgian literature classes, theater classes and creative writing classes in French.
Extraordinary projects:
- I worked on a social extracurricular project offering language classes to prepare students for
academic exchanges with francophone countries. The French for academic purposes (Français sur
objectifs universitaires – FOU) project has been taking place twice a year ever since and is based on the
course which I elaborated on in its first edition, in January 2012.
- I gave the Belgian literature class in Portuguese in order to make it accessible to the entire arts and
language faculty (Faculdade de Letras), reviewing its content to be more centered on European history
and on art history to compensate for the use of translated texts.
Official representation:
- I welcomed the economical mission in may 2010, plastic artists, University professors, theater troupes,
organized with the French and Swiss consulates the International Francophonie day (Fête de la
Francophonie) of 2012 and 2013 (diplomatic cocktails and film festivals) and helped creating a second
Belgian lecturership in Brazil, at the University of Brasilia (UnB).
