Clinical Attachment ( work shadowing ) under supervision of psychiatric consultant Dr. Ban Al-Kaissy for two
months, ten hours per week.
Attending ward rounds, outpatients clinics, care home visits and multidisciplinary team meetings as a part of
Manthorpe Centre psychiatric team .

Studying medical imaging has allo wed me to develop a broad range of skills including research methods,
medical imaging modalities, imaging techniques, data analysis as well as team-working and communication
skills through group project work, research assignments and oral presentations. Successful completion of my
dissertation "Identification of Cerebral Small Vessel Disease in Elderly Patients with Dementia" displays my
written communication and project management skills, along with the ability to meet strict deadlines. Also, a
paper based on my project is expected to be published in May 2014 in Lancet Neurology.

Gynaecology, had been covered in the next three years. My overall final average was 85.625% and I ranked
sixth overall Iraq in 2011.

March - July 2013; attending thirty interventional radiology procedures with Dr H. Lassch (consultant
interventional radiology) at Christie Hospital, Manchester, UK. Observing procedures, like gastrostomy,
nephrostomy, central venous line, peripheral central venous catheterisation, biliary stenting and oesophageal
stenting. Also, observing the appropriate way of communicating and examining the patients pre-operatively
along with Dr Lassch.

KEY SKILLS
Initiative – Completing individual projects developed my ability to: take the initiative; to plan, organise and
prioritise tasks; to analyse information and effectively applying it; and keep to deadlines.
Problem Solving – W here difficulties arose it was necessary to work through the situation logically and,
sometimes, negotiate on certain issues. This required patience, listening and being aware of the needs of
others.
Commitment – This can be best demonstrated in my ability and determination to complete challenging
degrees (M.B.Ch.B and MSc medical imaging) to gain better future employment. My attitude to work is one of
enthusiasm and motivation with the eagerness and ability to learn fast in situations where needed.
IT Skills: Experienced in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, SPSS, Power Point, W indows XP and Windows 7,
as well as being a regular user of the internet and Microsoft Outlook . Typing speed of 70 wpm on average. In
addition of having IC3 (Internet and computer skills) certificate in December 2011.
Teamwork – Completing numerous group projects at university have improved my team work capabilitie s. My
energetic personality, sociable disposition and positive attitude have given me the ability to mix well with a wide
range of people of various backgrounds and make a positive contribution to the groups. My experience as a n
undergraduate and recently postgraduate medical student enabled me to take control when required and
ensure successful completion of the task.
