General Manager for a Beef Processing R&D new technology company. Responsible for the hiring of all plant personnel and Management positions. Communicated with USDA Washington DC branch regarding regulatory requirements for new technology. Others responsibilities include but not limited to all other USDA and OSHA compliance, P&L, GMP, SOP, HACCP, Worked with investors to raise over $14 mil. To turn R&D into a functioning commercial plant once USDA approval was received.

Bridgetown Bakery, Clackamas, Or.— Operations Manager July 2010 - November 2011

Hired on by past colleagues to help start up a Granola Bar manufacturing plant Responsibilities included but not limited to hiring of all operations personnel, FDA compliance, production training and goal attainment. Wrote all SOP’s, SSOP’s, Safety Program, and HACCP. Was able to get plant started and operational within the 1 year commitment, Zenner’s Sausage, Portland Or. - Pres. / General Manager 2006 - June 2010

Family Owned Sausage Manufacturing plant. Responsible for all business result and regulatory compliances. Upon hiring the plant was running in the red. They were in debt to all suppliers, employees, and to the IRS. I negotiated with IRS and local banking to give me a year to get the business out of debt and profitable year two. Both goals were attained and following years were also profitable. Further details of how these goals were attained and my reason for separation would be better communicated orally

Fletcher Fine Foods, Portland Or. - General Manager 2006 - July 1998

Medium sized RTE meat plant. Responsible for all business results, regulatory compliances, and operations. Wrote a least cost formulation computer program to minimize product costs and maximize profitability. Worked with all suppliers to negotiate long term purchasing contracts to minimize supply costs. This plant eventually closed to relocate to Canada. I was not willing to relocate so separated employment Armour Swift Eckrich, Portland Or. / JC Kansas- General Manager

1990 - July 1998

Held positions at the Oregon plant of Operations Manager, Production Scheduler. Wrote a PC based program to improve plant scheduling to better meet shipment schedule. This program was eventually expanded Corporate wide. On July 1996 this location was shut down along with three other plants to start up a new sausage plant in Junction City Kansas. Upon relocating Kansas i was part of a team that oversaw the plant design, equipment layout, capacities, volumes, costs, logistics and purchasing. Assisted in the interview and hiring and training of 700 employees. WIthin one year the plant was producing 1 million pounds of cooked sausage per day to become (at that time) the largest sausage plant in the United States. Left Kansas at the end of my 2 year contractual agreement to return to Pacific Northwest.

Hygrade Foods, Tacoma Wa. - Several Positions

1977 to Feb.1990

Started off as an hourly employee, eventually working in every department. After 2 years i became a Team Leader then a supervisor shortly thereafter. I supervised almost every department in the entire plant and wrote SOPS for each. These SOP’ eventually were used Corporate wide to all facilities in the nation. For three years i was tasked to Process Improvement and Troubleshooting. Tis focus enable me to solve several issues that were costing the company lost profits due to waste, yields, labor, costs etc.

This plant was eventually closed due to its age and building a larger plant in the midwest I was offered a transfer but accepted another job closer to home.

Attended High School and Graduated in 1975 with a 3.7 GPA, Excelled in Architectural Drafting, Art, and Sports. Many of my Architectural Drafts i sold to local contractors. Participated in football, baseball, basketball, and track and field MISC.

I am well versed in GMP, SOP. SSOP, HACCP, HR, BOLI, USDA and OSHA compliance.

I have also done extensive work on Labeling compliance, warehousing, shipping, logistics and purchasing.

Skilled at all Microsoft programs as well as writing PC based programs that are plant specific based on needs.
