CAREER HISTORY

From 2009 June, till now serving as a Coordinator for the Rural Development Program. (RESCAPES-Community Development Social Worker) HOLY CROSS COLLEGE (Autonomous) Tiruchirappalli-2, Tamil Nadu, INDIA.

On the front line coordinating with both rural community and student community. Working as part of a team in a busy department. Responsible for the completion of orientation, planning, organizing, executing and documentation of programs.

WORKING FOR

We conduct programme and training for Rural School Students, School Dropouts, Rural Women, Rural Youth, Farmers and for Urban Slum Communities

For rural school students we conduct Integrated Health Screening, English communication, Computer literacy and awareness programs

For rural women we provide income generation programs such as Herbal oil preparation training, Tailoring training, Mushroom cultivation, Azospirillum preparation training

For rural youth and school dropouts we in association with Dr. Reddy’s foundation and ILFS Skill school, we mobilize them to attend vocational trainings such as two wheeler, four wheeler mechanic training, welding training and computer hardware training

For rural farmers we give training on organic manure preparation such as, Vermicompost, Azolla cultivation, Panchakaviya, Muligai poochuvirate trainings

DUTIES

Communicator between the adopted Village representatives, Government officials, Department staff in charge and also with the Core Committee members of the Educational Institution

To Plan and prepare a schedule for periodic village visits of the students to the adopted villages

A Member in the program planning of each department for their adopted village visit.

To discuss with the Core Committee Members about the programs planned by the department and to make modification and changes if needed

To explain the modified programs and changes to the staff in charge of the departments for the implementation in their adopted village

To visit the Field (adopted villages) periodically before and after the programs in the adopted villages

To accompany the students along with the department staff in charge for their village visit

To monitoring the activities conducted by each department in their adopted village, during their visits

To present the programs carried out in the village visits, to the Core Committee members, and to discuss and make modification and changes in the programme for further development

To Document the activities carried out by the departments and the feedback given by the villagers and also by the college students, both manual and electronic records and databases up to date

To prepare the Annual report of all the activities carried out and for the College Day & Magazine
