Al- Khafji Joint Operations (KJO) is a joint venture by Saudi Aramco Gulf Operations and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company, jointly administered by the two countries of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. It operates the production of oil and gas in the neutral zone of Al-Khafji Field having a daily oil production of 350,000 bpd. As a SAFETY ENGINEER I am supplied at Industrial Security and Safety Department-Loss Prevention Division (ISD-LPD), I report to the Safety LPD-Superintendent and performs the following functions:
Monitor the effectiveness of the company’s enhanced Safety Management System (SMS) implementation by all line departments and by the project management teams for all the KJO projects.
Coordinate and act as representative in the department which handles safety deliverables as well as act as focal point in the department.
Participate in the formulation of annual Corporate safety objectives and targets and KPIs to be adopted by the individual departments and conducts quarterly reviews of these targets and KPIs.
Review the monthly departmental Safety Management System Activity Plans of departments and discuss with departments any gap noted and recommends areas for improvement.
Participate in project safety walkthroughs, performance testing, punch listing of items, mechanical completions, project pre-com/commissioning and start-up activities.
Conducts monitoring and inspection of all onshore/offshore activities by Company departments and Contractors.
Review/evaluates bids/tenders submitted by Contractors for compliance with the Company’s safety requirements.
