Roles and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Quality Control indicators in Viaducts and Metro Station works.

• Carry out and execute inspections as required in the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)

• Ensures that completed inspections (IRE) of installations are signed offs by involved parties with correct enclosures and filled checklists.

• Responsible on inspections and tests of civil works, concrete works, reinforcement installation, water proofing, block works and masonry works, painting, finishing works and architectural items including ceiling, wall cladding, raised floor, tiles and epoxy floor, etc.

• Perform joint inspections with Material Engineer on delivered materials to site; ensures approval prior to dispatch for use and quarantine or put on hold rejected items.

• Conduct site surveillance to ongoing works and alerts site engineers and subcontractors on identified deviations, defects and potential mistakes.

• Witness 3rd party laboratory technician on-site testing and sampling of concrete, reinforcements, Non-destructive Test (NDT) on WP, paints DFT/WFT, fire proofing, etc.

• Oversee the subcontractor’s installation and inspection activities and ensures their compliance to project specifications, method statements, drawings and ITP.

• Issue corrective actions (CAR) and Non-conformance Reports (NCR) to potential and identified product defects and system failures to construction team and subcontractors

• Maintain and update trackers and registers of inspection and test activities

• Keep track of open inspections IRE/MIR, verify the rectification for re-inspection

• Attend CAR/NCR closure workshop meeting with PMC and subcontractors to discuss action plans and status of CA/PA for closeout

• Prepare and submits daily surveillance and activity report to QA/QC Manager info.

• Escalate high level issues to Line Supervisor / Senior QC Engineer for action

• Work closely with specialist subcontractors and 3rd party agency for steel structure fire proofing, fire stop applications, painting works testing and concrete technicians

• Perform other duties as Line Supervisor and QA/QC Manager may direct Date : July 2013 to September 2015
