Staples Inc. - Springfield Virginia General Manager June 2000 to March 2006

Lead the supervision and management of 8 stores at 85 million in annual sales volume as AIT. Assist the General Managers and District Sales Manager in all aspects of training and reviewing performance standards including front end, copy center, business machines, and office product managers. Base store achieved best District results in sales performance to budget and second best shrink performance for 2000. Directed training and set up operations for our new Waldorf, California MD and Eastern Shore locations. Participate in monthly P&L operating statement reviews and action planning to affect results and identify trends.

The Avenue United Retail Group – Balt / DC - District Sales Manager September 1999 to June 2000

Supervisor of a 12 Store District at 17 million in sales volume. Successfully recruited and staffed multiple locations without Store Sales Managers while supervising an additional District.

Removed all stores from the high shrink “Target” program through proper staffing, training, analysis and sound operational controls. Achieved highest quarterly sales increase in the region + 21.2% over plan, including holiday 1999.

Cort Furniture Rental - Northern,VA. - District Sales Manager February 1994 to September 1999

Supervise all aspect of the retail division of the Washington District and several rental facilities in Virginia. Increased sales over LY by 24.8% and a 10.2 % over budget for 1998; Contributed to the re-design and sales training, work load reduction, LP, and policy update programs.
