B) Quality Assurance Head
• Reports directly to the General Manager, is responsible for the development and maintenance of a Quality System, by close supervision of all activities and techniques in the factory, which guarantees that raw materials, packaging materials, intermediate and finished products are within specified guidelines and instructions.
• Immediate superior of Microbiological Laboratory Section, Utilities, and Pest Controller.
• Ensures proper and consistent implementation of Food Safety and Hygiene/GMP requirements in the factory by conducting routine inspection and maintain corporate policies on hygiene and GMP program. Inspect and audit all units in the factory, including, but not limited to, production sites, warehouses and environment.
• Disseminates and explain Good Manufacturing Practices policies, rules and guidelines to end users such as Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Safety, Health & Environment and Logistics to ensure proper interpretation, specifically in matters of Food Safety, Hygiene.
• Prepares Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and implements the BRC and FSMS at all times in relation to Hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Attends own training and familiarization with other Departments and sections in order to improve own knowledge and skills, attends meeting and seminars inside the factory and outside as may be required.
• Ensure that cleaning, rework handling, pathogen and micro monitoring, industrial services and pest prevention adheres to GMP audit guidelines and checklists.
• Prepares and conducts internal audit plan such the following FB audits, internal GMP and GWP audits, and Internal FSMS and IMS Audits.
• Discuss audit results to heads of sections or department concerned. Provide audit report summaries on conformities and non-conformities and recommendations, if needed.
• Ensure that audit reports are complete, accurate and timely. Solicit for corrective, preventive actions from departments concerned.
• Follow up and validate effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
• Identify potential areas for improvement by participating in problem solving and problem prevention activities.
• Review and analyse the data on microbial, pathogen monitoring; Quality indicators related to Food Safety and Hygiene such as Incidences of Pathogens; Finished Goods with micro problems; Foreign Bodies complaint; Withdrawal/Recall and Rework/Cut open due to Foreign Bodies and micro problems; Consumer and Trade Complaints; and Integrated Pest Management.
• Monitors and follow-ups results of Pathogen Monitoring from ZFI Microbiology Laboratory.
• Handles Consumer and Trade complaints and coordinates with Production to analyse causes and recommends corrective actions.
• Give immediate feedback of results of review and analysis to the sections or departments concerned. Feedback is either thru meeting, presentation or emails.
• Promotes Quality awareness as the Lead Facilitator during orientation of new employees and Refresher training. He is permanently on the lookout for ways to improve Quality of both product and systems.
• Introduce and / or reinforce concepts, procedures, guidelines and tools on Food Safety and Hygiene / GMP to people in the factory.
• Conducts orientation on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Quality Monitoring Scheme (QMS) for newly-hires employees and re-orientation for old employees, contractors and visitors.
• Coordinate with department heads and Human Resources re: training requirements of the people in the factory on topics related to Food Safety, current factory conditions. Ensure that training plan is coherent with other training plans.
• Review existing materials on relevant topics and if training modules already available, modifications can be made to address identified training needs and to adapt it to local factory setting.
• Organize training that includes training focus, objectives, schedules, duration, cost, resource persons, post training or comprehensive test. Establish evaluation system to determine effectiveness of the training.

• Ensure and monitor the implementation of hygienic design of factory production rooms and equipment. Participation in project conceptualization to ensure hygienic design of new production rooms and equipment or during modification or improvement.
• Lead the final release of equipment, machine and production line and assessing the changes, improvement and modification applied in alignment with GMP and International Standards.
• Coordinate with IPM contractor to establish the IPM procedures / rules for facility – IPM Manual including the IPM plan.
• Assess IPM activities in the factory in daily rounds and joint audits with IPM contractor once per month. Daily session with the Pest Control Operator for the monitoring, issued, planning and support.
• Review IPM report and trends for the factory by the IPM Contractor and forward to management for support.
• Coach the factory team for IPM related activities through workshop / training programs / gap assessment technique for IPM.
• Coordinates with Contracting Party on matters pertaining to Quality, Hygiene and GMP updates and operations.
• Coordinates with suppliers and dealer pertaining to hygiene quality of cleaning materials, chemicals and other material that can affect product safety.
• Maintains functional relationship with Engineering, Logistics, (QA) Quality Assurance, Human Resources, Accounting and Administration for optimum department activity.
• Abides by the Company’s Rules and Regulations on Discipline, Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Monitoring Scheme, Safety Practices and other Company policies that may be issued while in the employ of this Company; otherwise, the company shall lay down the appropriate disciplinary action.
• Ensures that the product, working conditions and work processes are consistent and within the quality standards.
• Recommends, lay down, and executes management policies affecting the area of responsibility, including the hiring of competent personnel, and imposing disciplinary action for erring personnel.
C) Integrated Management System – Lead Auditor
• Reports directly to the General Manager.
• Ensures that compliance with the QMS, FSMS, OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 22000:2005 and FSSC 22000:2010 requirements are verified and provide relevant recommendation in case of deviation & identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Plans & conducts internal audits to check the compliance of the organization to the established quality and food safety system and brief the Internal Audit Team.
• Assists the Company Management in the selection of Internal Auditors to form the Internal Audit Team.
• Prepares an Internal Audit Schedule and Internal Audit Plan with the company’s manuals as basis for planning the audit.
• Coordinates with external parties such SGS, Nestle Philippines Inc., Supplier, FDA and other for the audit and verification schedule.
• Coordinates with the department head concerned and agrees on the day to perform the audit; Responsible for all phases of the audit. He shall be given authority to make final decisions regarding the conduct of the audit and any audit observations.
• Reviews the documentation on existing integrated management system activities to determine their adequacy.
• Consolidates all audit findings and observations and prepares Internal Audit Report.
• Reports critical nonconformities to the auditee immediately and any major obstacles encountered in performing the audit;
• Reports to the auditee on the audit results clearly, conclusively, and without undue delay.
• Conducts the opening and closing meeting, as necessary.
• Participates actively on the implementation of the following elements of the Nestle Quality system, HACCP, GMP, Quality Plan, and Traceability.
• Issues and follow up of CAPA Corrective Action and Preventive Action on department, Supplier, Customer or third parties with issued CAPA. D) Quality Assurance Analyst – Microbiological Section / GMP Champion 6
• Performs microbiological analysis of finished goods, Raw Materials, Line, environmental samples and water analysis. This includes execution of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Perform Microbiological Analysis like; AMGC, EB Qualitative, EB Quantitative, S. aureus, E. Coli, E. Coli MPN Method and Yeast and Moulds according to Nestle Laboratory Instructions.
• Conducts swab tests, line samples, and environmental samples as per pathogen monitoring plan. Prepares samples together with the Request for Analysis (RFA) for sending to NQAC.
• Prepares and sterilizes media for microbiological analysis. Cotton-swabs, spoons, decontaminate incubated samples as well as positive control. Determines, ordering and inventory level of all materials needed in Micro section.
• Performs Internal Control Plan (ICP) of microbiological equipment and methods.
• Maintains hygienic condition of the Micro Rooms Bacto A&B, including glassware and Laboratory equipment. Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of the working area.
• Participates in the Proficiency Tests conducted by Nestle Philippines, whenever necessary.
• Ensures proper and consistent implementation of Food Safety and Hygiene/GMP program of the factory.
o Supervises the activities of both the micro hygienist and macro hygienist (pest control supervisor)
o Conduct training programs and monitors implementation of Food safety and GMP matters to all factory personnel, including contractual personnel. o Inspect and conduct monthly GMP & Hygiene audit in all units of the factory, including production centers, engineering, logistics, environment, and canteen and personnel facilities.
o Discuss audit results to department heads, factory management. Follow-up effectiveness of corrective /preventive action.
• Introduce and /or reinforce concepts, procedures, guidelines and tools on Food Safety and Hygiene/GMP in the factory.
o Conduct coaching sessions or on-site briefings to factory staff, as well as contractual personnel.
o Participates in conduct of HACCP studies and validation of HACCP studies.
• Ensure the implementation of hygienic design of Factory & Production facilities & equipment. o Participate in project conceptualization to ensure hygienic design of new production facilities. Facilitate the final release of the line.
• Liaison with BFAD together with the Pollution Control and Safety Officer to ensure that annual inspection to the factory is conducted.
