Sr. Director - Perioperative Performance Effectiveness (02/16 – 02/17)

Reporting to the VP of Performance Effectiveness and working closely with patient care services, lead a team of 11 regional directors who were responsible for perioperative services standardization and KPI improvement / achievement system-wide.

Sr. Director - Perioperative Support Team (12/14 - 02/16)

Built a team of highly knowledgeable perioperative directors responsible for performing four-week perioperative assessments at individual hospitals.

Team also provided interim leadership coverage for 1-4 months, wherever needed within the system.

Sr. Clinical Specialist – Performance, Management & Innovation (01/09 - 12/14)

Perioperative subject matter expert for multiple initiatives including:

OR Supply initiative focusing primarily on surgeon preference card creation, revision and maintenance

Spine implant contracting – Initiative developed in conjunction with outside consultants, Tenet’s supply chain leadership, and team from GPO MedAssets (now Vizient) that included strategy building through to initial kick-off presentations. Achieved significant ongoing savings of initially $33 million in first wave of this multiple wave initiative. Also involved in design and implementation of a charging methodology to accurately capture usage and spend.

Total joint replacement implant contracting (similar to spine implant contracting)

Medicare Performance Initiative – Participated in build and initial rollout of data based methodology for improving performance under Medicare through decreasing variation in care, supply costs, etc.

Perioperative Specialist – Performance, Management & Innovation (09/08 - 01/09)

Worked as part of a PI team consisting of specialists from Nursing, ED, Imaging, Case Management, Perioperative Services and data analytics.

Performed assessments of high volume, high cost and high risk areas utilizing quality and best practice principals, with development of recommendations and action plans.
