Responsible for the installation of the ice surface as well as overseeing the daily maintenance operations and repair of all ice facility equipment, including the ice resurfacing machines, HVAC air handling equipment, dasher boards and glass, Ammonia refrigeration ice plant room, perform service and maintenance on all dehumidification systems. Monitored the daily upkeep and testing procedures of the reverse Osmosis (R.O.) water treatment system
Monitored all ice arena refrigeration plant room equipment and document relevant data. Interact with outside refrigeration contractors to schedule work, as well as University contractors, and preventive maintenance staff. Familiar with refrigeration ice plant controls, safety controls and alarms, evaporative condenser maintenance and operations.
Perform daily maintenance inspections on both ice resurfacers including specific gravity testing and battery cell DC volt readings. Weekly maintenance procedures include greasing, and changing the blades on both ice resurfacers.
Prioritized and scheduled daily work responsibilities for all full and part time staff, as well as student workers. Coordinate the training of ice resurfacer drivers on and off the ice. Coordinate and oversee Notre Dame hockey game day operations with staff to ensure a safe ice surface . Worked with various groups in all aspects of the facility to complete tasks relative to ice arena events and operations.
