OBJECTIVE

After having finished my Master study in Sweden, I am currently working as a biological, technical assistant at the Helmholtz Zentrum in Munich.

Either though I enjoy my work there I, I can’t imagine doing it my entire life. Therefore, I am looking for a position in ecology, biology or environmental conservation.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

One of the amazing things about biology is that it consists of so many different and important fields. Whereas, I already gained quite some experience in laboratory work, I would now really appreciate to gain some experience in environmental/ conservational biology.

Currently my work experience is rather limited to the pharmacological field. This is of course a very relevant biological field but I do not really see my future in it. I would rather prefer to be involved in the field of ecology, environmental conservation or behavioural/ organismic biology. This field of biology would firstly be more in line with my master degree. Secondly I enjoy being in the outdoors and would thereby really enjoy a combination of laboratory and field work and last but not least I am a hobby photographer and am thereby passionate about nature and animals.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Animal Experiments on mice (Basic handling, restraining, ear clipping, blood sampling, subcutaneous and intraperitoneal injections, euthanasia and GTT)

Experience with TSE Phenomaster (indirect metabolic measurement)

Laboratory (PCR, qPCR, Gel electrophoresis, RNA and DNA extraction, Histology, basic cell culture techniques)

PERSONAL SKILLS

During my study in Sweden a major focus was put on teamwork and holding/ preparing presentations on a regular basis. During this study I also worked with SPSS as well as R
