As an Analyst my major job responsibilities included:

Manage overall Fund accounting process (having an investment portfolio of approx. USD 2.3 Billion) and reporting of financial & non – financial performance on monthly basis to the Board of Trustees.

Ensure appropriate maintenance of books of accounts and recording of correct accounting entries in SAP system as per International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Responsible for monthly, quarterly and yearly closing of the books of accounts.

Involved in preparation & review of Financial Statements and its presentation to the Management, Boards of Trustees and Shareholders.

Involved in preparation of agendas and circulation of pre-reading material to the Board of Trustees and ensure that agendas discussed during the meetings are documented in the form of minutes of meetings.

Act as a liaison between the Pension Fund, Trustees and Shareholders to provide information on performance of the Fund.

Monthly reporting of Fund Managers performance in terms of actual vs benchmark analysis and providing explanation for material variances (if any).

Involved in formulating annual budget and future financial forecast for the department.

Ensure that the future financial forecasts are estimated correctly and deviations (if any) are explained appropriately.

Review income and expense related entries and validate rectifying entries (if required).

Review and ensure bank and other critical reconciliations are timely prepared and long outstanding items (if any) are investigated and timely resolved.

Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are prepared on monthly basis to monitor the investment portfolio, profitability and performance of the Fund Managers.

Ensure timely response to Custodian, Fund Managers, Compliance, Internal auditors, External auditors and State auditors regarding any issues / clarification highlighted by them.

Coordinate with Compliance and Audit Department for providing assurance about accuracy of the information contained in financial reports and their compliance with the statutory and regulatory requirements.

Ensure appropriate and timely response to Pensioners

(approx.2,250), members (approx.6,800), HR department, Fund Managers, Custodian and Local Banks.

In co-ordination with Investment Advisor carry out performance evaluation and compliance monitoring of the Fund Managers in accordance with the investment strategies and guidelines.

Be actively involved in the reviews of investment strategies, guidelines and the Fund Managers’ selection along with setting up of investment mandate.

As a Manager my major job responsibilities included:

Preparation of annual Financial Statements for presentation to the Management, Boards of Directors, Shareholders and Governing & Statutory bodies.

Appropriate application of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS’s) while preparing Financial Statements.

Review Statement of Financial Position and Income Statement on periodic basis and report irregularities (if any) to Financial Controller and follow up for its resolution.

Manage chart of account, general ledgers, internal accounts and ensure requirements of all the department users are adhered.

Responsible for timely closure of the books of accounts.

Records of all the transactions pertaining to banking operations are maintained correctly and are appropriately classified between capital and operational nature.

Co-ordinate with all other departments of the Bank to finalise the financial and budgeting process.

Involved in preparation of annual banking budget for finance department and consolidation of overall Bank’s budget.

Report to Financial Controller and department heads in case of significant variances in actual numbers when compared with budgeted numbers.

Prepare analysis, projections and reports as required by the Top Management.

Establish profitability standards for investment, corporate, retail and treasury activities.

Review liquidity, lending and borrowing ratio on daily basis and its reporting to Top Management. In addition, timely communication to concerned department if breach is observed in any ratio.

Liaise with Financial Institution, Fund Managers and Custodian to ensure that adequate fund arrangements are in place for timely execution of investment proposals.

Prepare impairment workings for non-performing scripts for recording of impairment.

Responsible for the overall accounting process of the department and timely closure of the books of accounts.
